This is one of the oldest bars in Kolkata. You'll feel a totally different charm inside it! It is also called "Chhota Bristol". The place is situated near Dharmatala More (behind Chowringee Hotel) and opposite to Tipu Sultan mosque inside a by lane. You've to Google for the exact location, because the by lane where it is situated, may be overlooked! They have a huge seating arrangement, around 100-150 people can sit at a time I assume! This century old bar serves liquor at a very cheap price and their roaming snacks delivery guys are absolutely unique! They totally have a different kind of system inside. You have to pay for your order first then the liquor will be served! The same goes for the snacks items as well, the roaming guys go table to table and deliver your choice. The food menu is a bit restricted, the menu is only chips and peanuts from the main bar section and paneer fry, fried fish, chicken pakora and mutton liver are being served by the roaming people! You can get a freshly cut salad as well, but that's it. The place is really unique altogether and if you're interested in cheap bars then this is the place. Not such a fancy place with loud music and all but a totally old school ambience! The only con from my side is that they even charge ₹15 for a bowl of ice. P.S : Photography is strictly prohibited inside!

One of the finest youth memories starts from here. Hard to find location but worth looking for given the pricing. The best part is that you will find such huge variety of chat option with your drinks. This place is dedicatedly meant for regular customers(mostly office people of Dalhousie/park street/splanede areas who enjoy 2/3 drinks while going back home from office) Some unique chakhnas which is very uncommon in any other bars/pubs: Mutton mete kosha Bangla mach bhaja Roasted kaju Guava cut in pieces ( topped with nun lonka guro) Muri makha Alu kabli and such Costs are very affordable as well. However they dont have any fixed food menu. It is more like whatever available they will bring in house (like hawkers in trains) and keep roaming with plates until is finished. And if they run out of stock its over. Pre paid is must and like any piece hotel(where only plate lemon chilli and comes free and rest anything you order you have to pay:like per serving of rice or dal or chutney or papad) here also only glass and water and ginger cut with salt is free rest you have to pay for everything like ice/lime cordial/ soft drink/ even peanuts. But anyway no complains as its their business model and if you dont like it dont go, nothing will change. But if you are the one who likes bangla chakhna with daru, this is your place. Along with cheapest drinks. Only annoying fact is that they do not have any table system. So if you are planning to enjoy some drinks in solitary then there might be a problem. Because when this place is crowded then some stranger can come and sit on the other side of your table(even next to you) and it depends on what kind of person they are, because if they are those kind of people who after 1-3 drinks starts bawaal about their boss or financial problem or love life or kids education or bouma dekhashona kore na. Then your mood ka band bajega….luckily few of mu friends experienced this but not me so far…. :D

Well well one of a kind thing and a must visit for booze lovers.. gem finders and vintage hunters. Drinking at this bar is a one of a kind experience and mustn't be missed. This bar is like a social bar where you have to share tables with strangers and trust me on this after gulping a peg or two all the the tables becomes hot spot for all sorts of discussions and debates. Coming to the booze its the cheapest i have seen anywhere here in Kolkata. But its prepaid and takes some time to come. So you better order all at once. The light snacks go around in trays you can pick and choose from the variety of munchies, salads, nuts, chips etc. Coming to other food items. You can order them from the vendors taking order. They are all so pocket friendly and you get liver fry, to fish fingers, chilli chicken and so on. Overall a very much lively place.

Nothing to say much... If you want to enjoy some hard drinks at a very very cheap price then this is the place for you guys... They use to serve Alu Kabli, Boiled Chola, Chips, Bengali Fish Fry and many more chats like that... All are very pocket friendly... The ambience is pretty old school with no AC... The crowd is pretty cheap too... So as the staffs... So please accept these factors before you walk in... Also carry proper ID Card they use to verify your age and identity if they suspect you... I had some pegs of BP from here at a very low price... Oh I forgot... Get your seat here within 5:00pm otherwise it will be very difficult to earn a place here...

Pros:  1. The cost is lower compared to any other A.C pub in Kolkata. 2. The ambiance is great. 3. Stuffs are friendly. 4. quiet place, though during rush hours it might a little noisy.  5. Good Quality food is available. Cons: 1. Only people above age 26 years is allowed. 2. Women are not allowed. it is exclusively for men. 3. No card payment system is available. 4. During peek hours that is between 6 pm to 9 pm it gets too much crowdy, hard to get a seat in those times.

Cheapest ac bar of kolkata with quite a good service I would say. 110rs for 60 ml of bp. Almost home price. Quality of fish chkn and paneer was so fresh and good... Loved all the starters... Missed the fish fingers as it was not avbl. Even the wafers was quite good. Do visit if u want to drink at a cheap price. Things to keep in mind, Ladies not allowed and prepayment bfr every order is must.

WORST PLACE EVER!! Went there today in the evening. I went there wearing shorts hence I was denied entry stating that entry wearing shorts is not allowed. When asked to show policy they stated that they don't have any. How come such place exist in a progressive place as Kolkata. Walking in shorts is allowed in star restaurants but how come a small bar as this denied entry? What does attire has to do with chilling and drinking? Really pissed me off visiting this place. If anyone else has ever encountered anything like this do comment and let me know. THIS NEEDS TO STOP!!

The staff were excessively uncourteous, they denied service to us, reason being, we were two and ordered one beer while they wanted us to have two beers.
