I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for authentic Bangladeshi kacchi biryani. It is located near Phoolbagan metro station. It has also opened a new branch at Jadavpur near Sulekha More. The place is on the main road. The service is good and behaviour is very cordial. The best thing is the food which is the main attraction for any restaurant. I had the Mutton Kacchi Biryani with jali kebab, Chicken Roast and Dhakaiya phirni. The biryani was made with the traditional Bangladeshi staple rice "Chinigura" which is very similar to our gobindobhog rice. The biryani was moist and very flavourful. It was served with a complementary salad. It is completely different from the biryani we are used to in Kolkata and has a rich and distinct taste of its own which I loved and most Kolkatans would too. The roast chicken was even better. It had been cooked for long hours. The caramelised onions in it tasted delectable. It will go even better with tawa rotis, rumali rotis, parathas, luchis. The phirni was a bit runny compared to the phirni we are used to in Kolkata and more like a payesh which tasted heavenly. It was full of almonds. It is a highly recommended place from my side. Hope they maintain this quality.

So yesterday, we wanted to explore a different cuisine and landed up in this restaurant. Launched with the taste of old Dhaka food, it serves only Bangladeshi cuisine. Though it does not top in the ambience, yet it gives bits and pieces of knowledge on Bangladesh, its culture and places. We tried the best selling Burhani along with Shahi Paratha and Mutton kala vuna. The reason behind visiting the place was also to taste Kacchi biryani. A preparation originated in Dhaka, it is a traditional dish cooked with fragrant rice, ghee/oil, garam masala and most importantly raw meat. Talking about the taste, Burhani is enough to fulfill one's appetite. I really enjoyed the Paratha and the juicy Mutton kala vuna. But being a biryani lover, I would prefer kacchi biryani as a one time try. The owner of the restaurant is really a good host, as he made every effort to make us feel comfortable. He said that the biryani is made of chinigura rice, which is available only in Bangladesh. But the waiter has a habit of forgetting orders, so you might just have to poke every now and then. You can surely visit this place once! Leaving behind a few snaps which we took yesterday.

For those looking to experience Bangladeshi-style kacchi biryani, Dhakaiya Kacchi Dine is a must-try... The switch to Chinigura rice was a pleasant surprise, adding an authentic touch that I, although a Kolkata-biryani loyalist, didn’t mind at all... Would have been flawless if served hotter, but still an enjoyable meal 😋

Food was average. Food quantity is more than enough for one. Service was excellent.

Good for Dhakaiya kachchi biriyani but not for the thalis. the taste was not up to the marks of the thali but the biriyani was very tasty. one of the items (murighonto) included in the thali was also missing. when we asked for the item to the manager they tried to mislead us. but later they were convinced and gave us a discount.

The experience was pathetic. I paid via Zomato once I had my food however, the restaurant said that they won't be accepting that payment. Now, it took me another half an hour to resolve this

Please be advised they do not accept the bill payments through zomato app so you may visit this place with expectation of 10% discount then you will be disappointed.
