we had iced tea. Tea was decent but the place was unhygienic and owner behaves like she is doing a favor to us by opening her shop, serving us , otherwise we couldn't have survived without her Tea shop.

Very bad attitude of the owner. She also talks behind the customer’s back with her army of ‘mashimas”, which is a very bad manners. But she does not care about maintaining manners. She is just nice to well known people and regular customers. All the staffs are unprofessional who are chewing betel leaf all day long. No presentation and several times I found the owner sleeping in the open which is very unprofessional and unappealing. I went there a week back and the owner was super rude. She is always irritable and people other than the celebs ask for a service she responds with this “Ufffff” sound, like we made a mistake by going there. It is surprising that the owner of a cafe is so lethargic about serving customers. They should remember that there are plenty cafès and tea boutiques right now, who have great decor and csat priority. This shabby dingy cafè with such a bulldog like front face owner is only going on because of their old patrons and the regular celebrity visitors. They should hang a board in the front saying “no place for commoner visitors”. Now , Me and my friend just could not get over the fact that the owner looks so shrewd and rude and unappealing because of an ashy irritated face. My friend who also understands tea made it clear to me that the owner lady just sits there all day long with very limited and unupdated knowledge of tea. She and another betel chewing mashimas tried to sell tea worth 8000/ kg to us being very sly in the beginning- my friend checked it and told me that it is not of 8000/kg quality - rather they have mixed some different kind of leaves with the premium ones and trying to sell us “bhejal” which is really unethical. So when we politely refused the boss lady rolled her eyes strongly and started looking at her phone again, which was disrespectful. She didn’t have the courtesy to ask us what else do we want to eat. When we asked for the menu card, she rudely refused saying there is no menu card so we may leave if we wish to and again kept looking at her phone. It is not a tea shop , but it is a place of the owner and her army of mashima’s adda and relaxation. They are sleeping and looking at phone for most of the time. N.B: Also noticed that many people like me think she is Dolly herself. Well no need to think that, I have visited the shop several times when Mrs Dolly used to visit, she knows how to talk to customers and treat them. This old lady is not Dolly but a mere employee over there. She behaves like she owns the property and that is why people think she is Mrs. Dolly herself. She neither has the grace or the professionalism. The employees are ruining the shop behind the owner’s back.

Was an old visitor during Mrs Roy’s presence. Have some really good memories of the old days. Visited a few days back just to realise that Mrs Roy doesn’t visit the shop anymore and the place is being run by some goon ladies who don’t have the minimum trace of culture left. Someone’s is busy on their phones, someone’s face is smeared with betel juice, someone is taking a nap (vulgar to say at the least ). Well ofcourse you would have some time to take nap when the place is so empty. I have seen a different Dolly’s. Amidst the crowd of bright JU students (I was one myself) , artists and actors from different backgrounds- everyone would visit Dolly’s and we used to witness lovely “Addas”. However, olden golden days are gone indeed. What remains is a skeleton. The manager who gives off the aura of the rudest person around, thinks that she is better than the rest of the world. Such royal attitude in a sucha a small and now dirty cramped up tea shop is unsuitable totally. Her attitude comes to depict that she is the owner of the café.( if that is what anyone would like to call it.) What we ordered 1. Salad 2. Sandwich 3. Ice tea Salad was so so. Just a few pieces of sausages and onions cut and mixed up with chow mien er dokaner sauce and served somehow. Sandwich was soggy and full of sands. Ice teas were utterly disgusting. They mix artificial sugary syrup which is very harmful for the health. Didn’t taste that good either. A lady there tried to sell us overpriced tea leaf pack. But we ran away with our money and dignity.

I have heard so much about this place so one afternoon, I decided to go there with my friend. The shop seemed was very empty which was surprising given the hype of this place. We anyway decided to go in. There were no staff apart from two women. One of them was sitting on a stool and almost dozing off and the other was in the farther part of the room. We thought they would be happy to receive us since we were the only customers they seemed to have, but to our dismay the lady who was dozing off opened her eyes and frowned at us. I asked if the shop was open. She just stared at us weirdly and said nothing. The other lady motioned us to sit. It was the most unwelcoming gesture I have ever faced. But we went ahead anyway and sat down. We gave our orders and waited. The other lady who had gestured us just went out of the cafe and didnt return for 1 hr or more. We were waiting there for more than 40 min for our watermelon ice tea and we didnt get them. All this time, the one sitting kept gawking at us as if we were parasites sucking off her blood. I asked her, 'Amader order kothaye galo'. She rudely replied, 'Ami ki kore janbo', I said,'Ami bhabhlam apni manager' to which she had the guts to say, 'Tate ki hoyeche' How can such a place function this way, I dont know. Its very sad to see such poor condition of such a well known cafe. I hope it gets better. We left without getting our orders. The other lady was nowhere to be seen till the time we were there.

I went there with my very little kids and after tiresome shopping with a lots of baggage and as I reached the shop premise (dingy and clumsy) i needed to unload those baggages. So I wanted to keep them on the tables outside but they were dirty like they have never been cleaned before and I requested one of the staff to please get the table cleaned. The lady sitting inside who looks like one of the main staffs and who does not have any wish to move herself from her spot looked at me with a cunning attitude and ignored my request to go on chitchatting with her friends. I repeated my request but in vain - then I was getting impatient with two kids and so many baggages - so she somehow moved her body and came towards me with a very charging attitude and asked me -“Ki holo ki?” like she is some principal of a great big school. However as she is old I was patient and told her about my issue again. I said tables are dirty - she said “ Eto taratari hobe na. Bag niche rakhun.” I was shocked because the floor was equally dirty with bits and pieces of food and spilled tea or some liquid. Then she went inside and started looking at her phone without even instructing any of her staffs to clean up the place. Thankfully my husband came early and we could leave from the nightmarish place. We went to a different cafe after that and the experience was lovely.

Worst experience ever. Will never visit again. The manager is simply a pathetic lady who just do not know how to manage customers or the shop. Her attitude and posture are so out of place and spread everywhere. Doesn’t know how to carry herself or her bad attitude. She is always gossiping about the customers and their attires. This is what she teaches the staffs. The only suitable thing she did was to lift the plates from the table and wash them, because that is what she is really suitable to do and not sit on the throne like some Persian maharajah. staffs stand above the customers’ shoulders in order to collect money as if people will run away without paying their overpriced tea. Very disrespectful and they have turned it into their own addakhana. When I shared my experience with my parents in law , they were shocked and they said they used to visit when Madam Dolly was a regular there. I guess the staffs are totally abusing her absence in the shop and given a chance they will take it to the dogs very soon. They should close it already because it is not of much use anymore. 🤮

Dolly is not the royal highness who sleeps there so the reviews go out to her, who manages the shop. When I first entered the place, she stared at me like I am an object and invading her personal space. Seemed like she would have liked if no one came to her Café, Dolly ma'am - I hope you're listening. She is bringing your shop down. And also the other lady who was constantly coughing, made me want to run away immediately but I had given my order and had to wait for my drink (with/without corona). How can she let a person work in a restaurant where people come to eat and drink? The manager gives a very unpleasant vibe with her stone like expressions and judges you by your looks. I have read reviews where she was remarking about customers in front of them. And she sells the tea leaves at incredibly exorbitant rates...especially to people who are not from around here. I would not recommend anyone to go here who wants to have a pleasant, comfortable and relaxing café experience. Just dont come here. Its not worth it.

Just very bad attitude. Each one of them. They just come here to gossip and relax. Talk way too much than needed and unsolicited advices are integral parts of the package of visiting Dolly’s. The hosts don’t know how to welcome a person. Their behavior implies that they are doing a favour by keeping this shop opened. There are many more great cafès in south. Go visit them. I spent my hard earned money on this place and in vain. To the staffs I advice you to straighten up and stop judging guests so loudly. It becomes all too evident. I never write many reviews, but I had to write this one.

I used to visit this place ten uears back and it was a nice place with good iced teas and decent food. I visited today and four aunties ( the owner and her helpers) were chitchatting loudly and was least bothered in serving us. The owner was rude n careless. The helper heated some frozen food and asked us to check whether it was hot or not from inside. The food seemed stale and smelled. The place was dingy and i could see mold everywhere. The aunty type ladies was bitching about random people loudly and were least bothered Finally i left after seeing all this nonsense. Very bad experience !!
