We celebrated the first day of the year 2025 at Golden Phoenix. Quality and quantity of the food were up to the mark. Every items was so delicious and damn tasty. Quantity is also sufficient. Value for money. Service was good and warm. Must try place. Will visit again very soon.

We friends were looking for cheap booze, and we all know china town is probably the best answer for cheap booze in kolkata.This time we popped into Golden phoenix,they have a separate family section and a common section in the same floor,they provide 750 bottle along with pegs,price of booze at at par with other china town joints,however their food is something which was unexpectedly lip smacking, we ordered Chicken

We planned for Golden Joy but ended up here as you know popular places are mostly crowed and its hard to get a table on weekends and holidays. To my surprise Golden Phoenix was quite good option if you're not just looking for beautiful ambiance. The ambiance is very ordinary but ample space, no issues getting a table here. Service was average, food prices are same as per china town standard. Lots of items to choose from menu. We started with a bottle of 100pipers and choose below items with it. Drinks felt way too expensive to me, 375ml pipers costs Rs.1800. Prawn Chips @ Rs.140 (4/5) Chicken Sweet Corn Soup @ Rs.285 (3.5/5) Starter --------- Crispy Fried Fish @ Rs.440 (2/5) Chicken Lollipop in Sauce @ Rs.380 (4.5/5) We surely did a mistake by ordering crispy fried fish, although the fish was fresh but it was tasteless and quantity was also very low for the price. On the other hand Chicken Lollipop was tossed such nicely with onions capcicums & sauces, every piece of it tasted delicious. Main Course --------------- Mixed Fried Rice @ Rs.210 (3/5) Chilli Garlic Chicken @ Rs.360 (3/5) Chicken Hot Garlic Sauce @ Rs.360 (4.5/5) Fried rice was pretty regular, quantity was average. Chicken main courses quantity was ample with 15 pieces of chicken in every full portion. Chilli Garlic Chicken felt ordinary to me but Hot Garlic tasted just excellent. It tasted bit on the sweeter side and went really well with the rice. Conclusion --------------- This place doesn't seem very good at first glace and its not very popular either. But I liked their food and quantity. They can improve the service as the server wasn't very professional and they mixed all the gravy on my plate while serving. Apart from that if you're coming here to have drinks then come in full pocket as drinks are really expensive here.

Paid a visit to this restaurant on 2021's christmas eve.....The experience was to some extent satisfactory!!!😊I would like to give it an overall 4/5 rating. Ordered the following items and started munching at once🍴🥢🙂👍:- 1.Main Dish-Mixed Cantonese Noodles(Full-Serves 2)~4/5 2.Side Dish-Kung Pao Chicken(Half-10pcs)~3.5/5 3.Starter-Chilli Garlic Fish(Half-10pcs)~4/5 4.Drinks-Magic Moments(Pint)....They gave us a 5 rupee pack of Kurkure Green Chutney as our complimentary 'chakhna'.😅Rest, photos will speak.

Proper location just the second restaurant from chinatown gate... Ambience was pretty good. Neat and clean. Service was polite and friendly even on a busy x mas day... We liked almost all the items we ordered except drums of heaven which was not that good in taste....

The best Chinese delicacies is found in China Town.One of them is Golden Pheonix,the ambience here is decent and food is amazing. We ordered Chicken Wonton Soup:Clear Soup with spinach and steamed wonton.The wonton had good amount of filling in it.Definetly having it again (10/10) Mixed Cantonese Chowmein: Gravy Chowmein with veggies,chicken and prawn.Chowmein were perfectly cooked and tasted really good (9/10) Hot Garlic Chicken: More on the sweeter side yet it complimented well with the cantonese chowmein.Chicken was perfectly cooked. (9/10) Thread Chicken: thinly sliced potatoes quoted with chicken stripes and fried.Amazing starter go with drinks (10/10) They even provide a chutney for the spice lovers really happy with the experience :)

Some fried rice cravings and I went for a delivery of a Veg Schezwan fried rice from this place! Had also ordered a Veg Manchurian along with it, but since they were out of stock, had to remove this from my cart! Food presentation was just excellent – they used lots of chopped veggies as well as optimum quantum of sauces! Nice to see that they prepared the same to instructions and refrained from using chilies as requested! Overall, the palate tasted perfect! Quantity was also huge - 1 plate is more than enough for 1 person. Food quality and packing was decent - pocket pinch is pretty acceptable! Overall, a perfect experience - looking forward to more orders!

The ambience is ok if you want to come grab beers or a drink with friends. Not a family place at all. The soup was very watery and was falling out of the sides of the bowl. No proper condiments with food, either. The sweet and soir soup was ok but the veg clear soup and chicken Thai soup could have been better. Bathrooms were not clean either. Overall: Food taste: 2/5 Ambience: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Food to price ratio: 4/5 Good for friends to come and chill and drink. Not good for family style dining.

Ok,so from last 2 years I have been visiting this place quiet a lot..on 21.09.19 I visited this place again and suddenly I got to know that they are serving 12 pieces of 'drums of heaven' in a full plate size past 10 years..even on 05.09.19 we had visited and the quantity was 15 pieces..and asking about this the waiter suddenly started talking to me in a very rude manner..I m still not able to understand what has happened!..the food was okey but this kind of behavior is intolerable!! Looking forward to not visit this place again!!Hope this review will help others...
