This place has been a family restaurant for us for over 15 years now. Entering the dragon gate opposite Science city, hakka village is the first restaurant in the row. The food is good and pocket friendly compared to others, the staff are friendly and doesn't make you wait for your food for long. I have my constants/regulars here, dry garlic chicken/ thread chicken along with a beer, and mixed Cantonese noodles. I have literally asked for the secret as in how the noodles taste so good 😛 but they refused to give out their secret and smiled instead. Jokes apart, if you are looking for a quick bite, a calm and quite place with your date or your family, or wanna have serious life discussions with your best friend in dim lights, this place is worth it. And I don't know why this place smells so good! 😛

A great place for a quick bite. Really good quality food at affordable price. Ordered Chicken Fried Wantons and Fresh Lime Soda. The wantons were super crispy outside and flavourful inside. The quantity was good compared to the price. Courteous staff, overall a good experience.

This place is perfect for those who want quality Tangra Chinese food at a low price point and who do not have an issue with the ambience. Many such restaurants are there across Chinatown where you can get cheap alcohol and cheap food which is of good quality.

If you want cheap and yet quantity, one should visit this place in China Town, Tangra. Hakka Village is probably the cheapest restaurant in China Town. The decor is simple, with no special lighting or Chinese scriptures. The restaurant is filled with dim lights, which gives a feeling of old Kolkata dining.  It has three big rooms, one for family, one for big get together and one for regular diners.  The staff are very courteous and always ready when demanded upon.  Items Order: 1/2 plate Thread Chicken & Prawn Chips  Alcohol Order: 1 Royal Stag Nip & 2 Tuborg Strong Pocket Pinch: Rs.1295 (Including GST) Don't judge the food by the rating of this restaurant.  The Thread Chicken is a must try at this place, its lip smacking. They also serve good Chinese food which is sufficient in quantity as well as taste.  The other items which is worthy of trying are: Crispy Chicken, Hakka Mixed Chow, Dragon Chicken & Golden Fried Fish. The menu is fair and wont burn a hole in your pocket. Cost for two: Rs.800 approx including Alcohol (Including GST) The Place could be more attractive by giving it a proper decor.

One of the cheapest restaurants of china town. A plate of starters consists of 20 pieces of the thing you order so it is definitely a place where you should go in groups. But 1 thing I did not like about the place, rather it was a problem regarding all the restaurants if china town. All of them r sexists. They won't allow you to enter family zone unless you have any girl with you. So according to them father and son is not a family, nephew uncle is not a family, brothers r not a family but if you have a girl with you that's the best definition of family according to them. I wonder how they make such rules in such a progressive world

Nicely situated under 200m from the main road connecting Science City & Topsia. Food is mediocre, we ordered Veg Noodles, Chilly Mushroom, Chicken & Fish Threads & a lot of beers & Whisky. Another problem is the look of the joint will disappoint you. Not a nice place for visit. Recommendation: NO

One wicked fellow the owner is! It was a take away order of a few items, directly from the restaurant and I called him up after finding that a box of rice was half full after I reached home. He denied as if I was lying and he told me that he can't speak as he is busy! I cant imagine that such people are running restaurants and hospitality business in the city when they behave like absolute slum dwellers. The restaurant staff had however told me that it is more than sufficient for 2 People. I am never walking into this restaurant again! The owner's name is Michael Chu and hench I have changed my Zomato name in dedication to this incident! I hope the owner reads this himself!
