Recently visited House of Royals and their Special Biryani Thali absolutely won my heart. With 14+ items packed into one platter, it honestly feels like a steal at just ₹600–₹649, and it’s easily shareable for 2–3 people. The kebabs were incredibly juicy, and the biryani was proper Kolkata-style—fragrant rice, a huge, tender mutton piece, and the chicken thali was just as satisfying. Every element on the thali felt well thought out and super filling. From the à la carte menu, we also tried their Malai Tangy Kebab Sizzler, which was such a unique and flavourful dish—definitely something you don’t find everywhere.

Visited this place on a week day. Outdoor seating in early February weather was definitely a plus point. Mutton and Chicken Biryani were the only items that we ordered. Plus points : Decent sized Mutton and a rather large piece of chicken. Mutton was well cooked and falling off the bone. Negatives : Surprisingly small piece of potato which is uncharacteristic of a Kolkata biryani. Taste of the potato was okay. The rice was quite mild in flavour even in comparison with other Kolkata style biryanis. Took a fairly long time (45 mins) to serve (warned by server beforehand). In summary : A decent location for an above average biryani. Prices seem reasonable. A 7/10 overall just based on the biryani.

Jamai Shosti at House of Royals- tried this restaurant for the first time... . Good starters - Bhetki Fish Finger was crispy and tasty. Chicken Reshmi Kebab was juicy and moist. Both items were fresh and tasty. Main Course- I have heard a lot about its biriyani, we had Special Chicken Biriyani biriyani which was really good ( a mild biriyani not the very greasy type ). Other items chicken tikka butter masala, peas pulao and panner tikka butter masala was okay, a bit spicy and too oily for my taste. Dessert - a mind-blowing Phirni...this Phirni is a must try...

Visited this place after hearing a lot about their Biriyani. The time we visited was in the evening, basically for dinner and the preparation time was good, staffs were polite. We ordered few good recommended items from the menu and all of them were really great but for the reason I visited was for the Biriyani and it was horrible, it was extremely dry, undercooked rice with potato and also the mutton was extremely dry. When I asked the guy when was it cooked, he said in the morning so obviously, I told him very nicely that he should have mentioned it before since I have visited other restaurants where the staffs always mention that if I should take an item or not but may be will try to visit someday again during lunch hours for a different experience.

Ambience was ok. Indoor and outdoor. Although the outdoor side had fences. Would have been better if covered for privacy. Had the food. Mutton biriyani Chicken Bharta and Fried bhetki. The mutton size was ok. The bhetki crumbed was bit too thick. Unfortunately while having biriyani found out a yellow plastic of which picture is also taken. Now you know how dangerous plastic could be. So hygienic and food safety they lack. Similar there was hair of mutton in the food. Informed the same to the manager but he all could say was simply to put this as feedback. Taste and ambience is ok. Could be better and most importantly need to improve the food safety.

Below Average and over-hyped. Maximum items were not available when asked for. Don't order Gulab jamun with Ice cream. They serve hard gulab jamun. Keema Pao tasted average. You can say that better quality food is available at other restaurants at that price.

The food was very bad. Tried their “coveted” mutton biryani and I was extremely disappointed with it. The biryani was not served fresh it seemed like it was reheated and served. The rice was also very basic. There are much better Biryani shops in salt lake.

The food is horrible. I would not recommend anybody to waste their money in this restaurant. We have tried Mutton biryani which was a real sthit. Mutton pieces were under cooked. Bad smell and they have used dalda instead of Ghee perhaps.
