I recently visited this Indian restaurant, and the experience was truly wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious every dish was rich in flavour, perfectly spiced, and tasted authentically Indian. From the starters to the main course, everything was fresh, well-prepared, and full of aroma. The ambience added even more charm to the meal. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with beautiful décor, cosy lighting, and a calm vibe that makes you want to stay longer. The staff were polite, attentive, and made sure the service felt smooth and welcoming. Overall, it’s a perfect place for anyone looking to enjoy great Indian food in a comfortable and beautiful setting. Highly recommended! 🍽️✨

Layers of spice, slow-cooked mutton, and pure nostalgia on a plate.. had their Mutton Biryani and washed it down with a masala coke, unexpectedly perfect.

I visited this restaurant to try their Mutton Biryani, Paratha, Mutton Galwati Kebab, and Chicken Cheese Kebab. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The Mutton Biryani was below average, especially considering the price point, and the Chicken Cheese Kebab was downright unacceptable — the taste was simply poor. The only redeeming dish was the Mutton Galwati Kebab, which was actually quite good. Overall, the restaurant doesn’t live up to its reputation or justify the prices they charge.

The quality of mutton in biryani and chicken tangdi kabab can be improved. Found both under cooked.

A Total Disaster: Avoid This Restaurant My recent visit to India Restaurant on Kaikhali VIP Road was a profoundly disappointing and frustrating experience. It's rare to encounter such a complete lack of regard for customers, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others. The problems began the moment we arrived. The floor manager's attitude was hostile and dismissive from the outset, a stark contrast to the welcoming atmosphere one would expect. When we were finally seated, the plates were noticeably dirty, a clear sign of poor hygiene standards. This was not a minor oversight; it was a complete failure of basic cleanliness. Upon bringing this to a server's attention, the reaction was not one of apology or concern, but one of outright rudeness. There was no attempt to rectify the situation, and the general demeanor of the staff was completely unprofessional. This culminated in a confrontation with the floor manager, who not only failed to address our concerns but also displayed a shocking level of misbehavior and disrespect towards us. In a competitive market like Kolkata's, where hospitality is a key component of the dining experience, India Restaurant fails on every conceivable level. The poor customer service, the rude attitude of the staff, and the unsanitary conditions make this an establishment to be avoided at all costs. What should have been a pleasant meal turned into a total disaster.

This review is prior to my meal, even before I'm getting to my table. I'm not sure if I will eventually get a table. The reception kept us waiting for an hour almost. I see tables with 2 or 3 people getting tables before us while we wait. Apparently they can't get a table of 6 for us. I understand the logic, but fail to understand the lack of management and commitment from the reservation system of a restaurant that claims to be one of the top in hospitality. Let's hope people in this city understand how to operationally handle a business of this scale.

Very disappointing experience. The biryani was absolutely tasteless and poorly prepared. The rice was completely broken and overprocessed, ruining the texture. The potato was not even properly boiled, and the mutton was undercooked and hard, making it very unpleasant to eat. This was honestly the worst biryani I’ve ever had. Would not recommend this place at all.

Worst experience ever. Even after asking for water several times water was not served. No attendees, no proper management to here for complain. We entered the restaurant at 9:00 pm after more than 1/2 an hour we got our seat , and it's 10:30 now , our main course is not yet served. Not recommended at all. Just a mordernised show with no proper customer service.

The service of the restaurant is extremely poor. We had visited here for my birthday and we had to wait for more than one and half hour for just two plates of Mutton Biriyani. This is extremely disappointing.
