Introduction: Beside the shores of River Ganges in South 24 Parganas is this marvelous resort of Raichak. Combined with cool breeze of the river and the luscious greenery spread all around Ffort Raichak is the spot to relax your weekends at. Of the couples of eateries in the resort this one, as the name suggests serves you Indian Platter. Atmosphere: Plush decor, abundant sunlight and relaxed and quiet atmosphere of the restaurant soothes your mood. The whole area is decorated with luxuriant wooden furniture. All these creates a Indian ambience dating back to the late medieval era wrapped with modernity. Food: Since I was on an office vacation, I attended the buffet that they serve here. The buffet consisted of fourteen 16items covering the starters, main course, sides and two sweet dishes. Some of the tasteful items were Dahi Vada, Mustard Paneer, Green Papad, Biriyani Rice, Chocolate Mousse and Baked Sandesh. However, the overall impression of the food was somewhat above mediocre. What We Ordered: I tried my hands on certain selected items as I was aiming for a petite yet stomach filling plate. My Starter plate consisted of Alu Chaat, Mixed Salad, Buttered Croissant Bread. The Main Course items I tried my hands on were White Sauce Veg Pasta and Fish Battered Fry. The Chocolate Mousse was made of vanilla and chocolate heavily sprinkled with Cocoa Powder. The Alu Chaat was quite tasteful but the Mixed Salad tasted flat. The Dahi Vada were warm and delightful. The White Sauce Pasta was lacked excitement in taste. The Mustard Paneer as already mention was satisfying to the taste buds. The Fish Fries were tasty nibbles. However, the sweet dishes steal the show. Staff & Service: The staff are quite humble. Even the quality of the service is beyond average. However, on the parameter of timely service is were they lose marks. Honourable Mention: It is rather the atmosphere of the resort holistically rather than any particular aspect of this concerned restaurant. Recommendation: Since it is one of the three or four eateries in of the resort you can give it a try.
