This branch of Karims is rated 2.8 on Zomato and 4.5 on Google Maps, that means a platform is inflated with fake reviews. So here’s my honest take... The first impression of the place is positive—decent ambiance with a beautiful view and comfortable seating. The staff is courteous, which adds to the overall experience. Karims is known for its Biryani and Kebabs, and I ordered both, though I must say the Kebabs are quite on the pricey side. Several reviews across both platforms have mentioned finding hair in their food, but after a thorough inspection, I didn’t spot any, thankfully! Murgh Tangdi Kebab 4pc @ Rs.400 (2/5) ------------------------------------------------ The kebabs were disappointing. They were overly oily, to the point where oil was literally dripping off them. Kebabs should typically be roasted with just a hint of butter on top, but these felt like they were submerged in oil. On the positive side, they were cooked well and tasted okay, but they weren’t anything special. Kolkata Ghosht Dum Biryani @ Rs.580 (4/5) --------------------------------------------------- Now, this is where Karims really impressed me. Despite being a Delhi-based brand, they’ve nailed the Kolkata-style Biryani. The rice was aromatic and flavorful, and the mutton was juicy and tender. The egg and potato were a nice touch, and it felt authentic in terms of flavor. It's on the richer side, but honestly, this Biryani stands up well next to some of Kolkata’s top places like Arsalan and Aminia.

Visited on 14-04-26. Packed my food from this restaurant. The staff behaviour was excellent. They helped me pick from the menu and also advised on quantity, so that I dont buy extra and waste food (which I am dead against). We were 4 people, we bought 1Nos. Kolkata Gosht Dum Biriyani (Special) i.e Mutton Biriyani with 2 Pcs mutton, enough for 2 people (normal eaters) @ Rs.590 2 Nos. Egg Biriyani @ 280 x2=560 Container & Packing charge @ 10 each x3 = 30 Total:- 1180 + 5%GST = Rs.1239/ is what we paid for 4 people, which was OK. I liked the biriyani but most eaters may find it slightly dry as kolkata biriyani is slightly more moist... overall a nice experience. I am going back again...oh btw the ambiance was great too... Qty was just right for 4 people (2 Ladies & 2 Gentlemen) not less not more. Menu in Zomato is outdated please add Rs. 30-50 in each items.

The biryani was disappointing—it was served cold and lacked freshness. The noisy environment made it hard to enjoy the meal, especially during peak hours. The staff was polite, but the service felt a bit slow. This place has potential, but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in maintaining food quality and ambiance.

One of the worst restaurants you will come across. This doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating. We ordered Rann Biriyani and Murg Masallam. First of all the quantity of Rann Biriyani was far less than the quantity we get in other branches of the same restaurant. Now coming to Murg Masallam, we were not able to distinguish between whether it was actually Murg Masallam or a normal chicken curry. Never ever seen Murg Masallam like this. Now the ultimate thing. The biriyani we got was full of hair pieces. When we complained about this to the waiters and the manager, they told us that by mistake this has happened but in general they maintain great hygiene. To compensate this the manager told us they will give us a complimentary ice cream worth 100 rs. As if we are beggars. Like we can pay a bill of 4200 but we cannot afford an ice cream worth 100 rs. No wonder why the overall rating is 2.8

The kebabs were stale and had an unpleasant smell. The staff and even the manager initially refused to acknowledge our complaint, insisting it was due to the garlic flavour — which was clearly not the case. After much argument, they finally agreed to replace only one dish. On top of that, the food is overpriced considering the quantity served — just four pieces in a full plate, and even those were stale. Overall, a disappointing experience and a total waste of money. Not recommended.

We took a plate of Special Mutton biriyani. The mutton pieces were full of fat which was not at all consumable. The biriyani was so oily that we had to throw away and eat whole at the restaurant. While serving the caterer spread biriyani rice all over the table and my cloth. Extremely horrible as I am sort of a regular customer at Hatibagan branch and its fabulous. This branch is the worst and should cose down immediately!!!!!

After an unnecessary waiting period of 15mins despite of them having plenty of empty tables we waited 30mins on the table asking servers to take orders literally 7 times but nobody turned up. Left the restaurant with informing the uniform less manager at the gate but he seemed unbothered and chill with it.

The kebabs were patially cooked, there was hair in the main course, and the staff was extremely careless, confused and slow. One shouldn’t get misled with the name of Karim’s because apart from the name, everything else was just bad. Overall, a terrible experience.
