Kim Pou Restaurant, one of the most underrated hidden gems in China Town (Tangra) is located in Tangra close to Beijing Restaurant. The location is accessible by vehicle easily There is a small space for parking outside the restaurant with the main lane adjacent to it. The restaurant is not at all highlighted likewise other outlets where you can identity but has a calm atmosphere around. As we entered into the outlet, we were greeted by a chilled and cool cosy ambiance resulting in positivity of having food. There is a small washroom which was decent and proper air-conditioning making no problem even if there would be crowded. It was absolutely a simple hall for dine-in Looking into the menu, we were surprised to see the prices being extremely cheap as compared to other restaurants. They have a simple yet variety menu which will automatically help you to choose your items. We ordered as per our choices and food was served in decent time. Only thing that they need to check is there was no professional staffs who could guide us or listen to our requests carefully so as to choose the best ones out of the lot. The food served was sufficient in quantity for two people. Each and every items especially their steamed wontons, pork and rice was very good. I was really satisfied with the quality being maintained even at such affordable rates Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for one of the best affordable chinese cuisines in China Town with my hope of again visiting this outlet very soon !!

Upon entering this restaurant, we found it completely deserted. I was little apprehensive about visiting this restaurant owing to the low rating in Zomato. But to my astonishment, this place is surely a hidden gem. Located very near to the Chinese Kali bari, the wontons here are mind blowing. We ordered chicken wontons, chilli roasted pork and chilli garlic oil noodles with pork. We asked them to give us soup, they readily agreed and gave it as a complimentary. The food review- •The chilli pork was very dry, did not have any gravy at all..the pork pieces were lying in a pool of oil, onions and green chillies. They took 'chilli pork' name way too seriously. But the pork pieces had sufficient amount of meat as well fat. My rating would be 3/5 for this. •The chicken wontons were soft and oozing with oil. We loved it. For 70Rs, you get 7 wontons. Rating 5/5 • The noodles were laden with oil but tasted wonderful, so no complaints. Rating- 4/5 There are so many negative reviews about the service but then we found a new manager recruited , who was trying very hard to train the staff. We were very happy with the dinner as it didn't burn a hole in our pockets and tastewise too was great!!!

I came here pretty early, around 10am for breakfast and we were the only ones here. We ordered their special pork wonton chow noodles, garlic chicken and fish ball soup. The noodles are definitely very oily and greasy but also really really delicious. Everything tasted really good and all this for just ₹452! Definitely worth trying!

Kim Pou is a hidden gem in Tangra. We went there to have breakfast and tried fried wantons, wanton noodles and dry chili chicken. The wantons absolutely won our heart and would recommend this place to everyone.

Kim Pou is one of the places known for authentic Chinese food in Kolkata. It is a small restaurant with 5-6 tables. The decoration is simple. We had Mixed Cantonese Chow, Wonton Chow, Chili Garlic Fish, Shanghai Chicken and Meatball Soup. The soup was very light in taste. Cantonese Chow was decent and something not for everyone. Wonton Chow was also very light with shredded chicken on it. Fish item was really great along with the Chicken item. The person managing the place was very rude towards the attendants of the restaurant. They do not accept UPI, but they do take Cards.

Quality of the food has been degraded drastically. I ordered for dry roast pork , which was full of fat and mixed fried rice was totally uncooked with raw veggies, when I called the cook , he simply said this is the best he can get. M really surprised. I was not expecting this. Will not visit anymore and will not recommend anyone

Came in with a friend on 16th June 2024 evening. It was not crowded at the time. There was a shortage of staff or the waiter was in untrained, we didn't know. He was not listening, not noting down orders properly neither was confirming. He took down some wrong instructions. We Ordered , 1. Steamed Pork Wanton, Full - 14 pcs - 8/10 - This was good but they forgot to serve soup. It came when we had already ate 60% of the wontons. There was a little bit of soup on the bottom of the plate of the wontons and it was very salty. 2. Special Pork Chow - 7/10 - This was nice, it was Wanton noodles with pork strips. Better to go for hakka chow if you need more flavour. 3. Pork Fried Rice - 6/10 - Too much onions! Every bite had a ton of onions in it that also raw onions! Amount of pork was good but the onions were like Elaichi in Biryani! 4. Roast Chilli Pork 4/10 - We ordered a gravy version, but they brought dry, asked for a change and they got a version with the same pieces swimming in oil. Didn't know authentic chinese gravy = sunflower oil! I know that pork fat releases oil, but I asked for gravy, not more oil! There wasn't any gravy in this. Also, PIECES WERE ALL FAT, NOT A SINGLE PIECE HAVING A BIT OF ACTUAL MEAT! ALL THE PIECES WERE 10% MEAT AND THE REST WAS FAT! When the bill came, we realised that they served chilli pork, not roast chilli pork. So, they messed up our order once again. Not coming back. Follow foodicalypse on YouTube, a video will come soon.

i visited the restaurant on 14 may 2024 evening. heard a lot of their famous shingara chow. we ordered 1.chicken wanton chow (shingara chow) 2.steamed chicken wantons 3.chilly pork 4. chilly chicken now let me share my feedback. 1.chicken wanton chow - rating 1/5. we ordered 3 plates and requested them to spread it across 4 persons. The waiters were not trained enough. (possibly they come from the local slums). The way they served , made all the wantons got covered under a heap of noodles. Surprisingly unlike the videos i had watched there were nothing else in the noodles.Usually they give small chicken strips. This item literally had nothing (even no veggies) apart from 3 pcs of wanton. now coming to the wanton..the covers were quite thick and chicken quantity in the wantons were significantly low, making them tasteless. 2.Steamed chicken wantons - rating 1/5 as said above this was equally horrible as shingara chow. could not finish the food. 3. chilly pork - rating 7/5. excellent taste. nothing overwhelming though. 4. chilly chicken dry -rating 4/5. was ok. as good as any others restaurants. prices were very reasonable...rather very cheap. quantity was enough. since we visited prinarily to taste the wantons, the overall experience was very bad and disappointing as the wantons left a bad taste in the mouth and in the memory. NEVER TO VISIT AGAIN
