Mandarin is one of the oldest restaurant in Tangra. Had Mixed Haka Chowmein with Chilly Chicken. Taste was just beautiful. The flavours are so correct. Authenticity lies in Tangra and so in Mandarin. It's a must visit place

Went there on 1st Jan and got table very easily. Surprisingly they have huge space and ample sitting. So on any occasion if you aren't getting table anywhere you can give them a try. Ambiance was okay, service was bit too slow. We tried below dishes... Starters ---------- Prawn Waffers @ Rs.200 (3/5) CGP Chicken @ Rs.400 (2.5/5) -------------------------------- Cgp was just basic fried chicken tossed with green chilli, onion and capsicum. No special spices, no sauce, nothing special, don't order it. Thank god we had Prawn Crackers to compliment. Mains --------- Hot Garlic Chicken @ Rs.400 (4/5) Chicken Hakka Noodles @ Rs.230 (3/5) Chicken Cantonese Noodles @ Rs.300 (4/5) --------------------------------------------- Chicken Cantonese was showstopper and different than usual gravy noodles at other places. Noodles in semi gravy, ample veggies carrot, capsicum and onion, lots of chicken chunks and it tasted delicious. Hakka noodles were also quite good. Hot Garlic Chicken was served 20 pcs in full portion and it tasted quite good too. Portion per dish was really good. Conclusion ------------- Food quality is good but not excellent, service is bit slow, ambiance is okay, ample tables available, pricing is mediocre, overall deserves a visit. Beer prices are also affordable.

Mandarin Gourmet is situated just next to Golden Joy and is always a favourite of mine since last few years. I somehow find this place to be those under-rated one which doesn't deserve to be this gloomy beside the big names of Golden Joy or Kimli or Beijing. The food here is brilliant, the dry chilli chicken is to die for. The same goes for their Panko Fish too. The main course comes in huge portions and usually 1 plate of noodles or rice is more than enough for 2 people. As a side dish, do not miss their Hot n Sour Chicken. However, it is always suggested to go this place for Dine In and not opt for home delivery. They are yet to find the best solutions of a proper home delivery. Be very much specific if you are going for take away.

Ordered a Babycorn Manchurian (Gravy) for delivery from this place - Mandarin Gourmet based somewhere in the Tangra locality – which is the Chinese food hub of Kolkata! As the name suggests, yummy Manchurian was served in babycorn gravy with generous pieces of chopped garlic as well as coriander, not to forget the punch of Schezwan! Dish was pretty tasty, no complaints on account of quality, tamper proof packaging and the like! Quantity served is also decent! Pocket pinch is high though, rest all, so far so good! Cheers!

This place is a hidden gem among all the big names in Chinatown. I had lunch & dinner twice in this restaurant and I like the food here. It is very delicious and the portion size is enough for two people. Well, the ambiance is nothing to talk about but there is no waiting time to get a table. Parking space is available on the opposite side of the restaurant only.

The ambience needs to be improved. The food quality is medium and not up to the mark. Mostly, I want to emphasize the ambience. Please improve it.

Absolutely Crappy and a Shitty Place!!! Being referred by a friend, I went there with my family, the only reason was that the food was supposed to be good. On a Saturday evening in tangra, only 4 people eating and it's completely empty. The waiter said that the owner don't have interest to run the restaurant with positivity. I was ready to order their Duck in a custom sauce but along with that the waiter suggested Panco fish and supposedly that's their speciality. The fish came, simply fried basa, totally bland no taste at all. But hey, wait for the bomb to blast, in comes the duck. The first look is it's a completely pan fried spicy shit and it costs 750 bucks. I asked for a knife and the waiter was surprised that why I need a knife to eat duck meat though we all know that duck is not soft a chicken. This ruined our evening and I asked him to change it, the waiter went to the kitchen and within a minute came back with the remaining pieces simply washed with water....I paid 1554 and we just ate the fish starter. Foodies never make a mistake going to this place. One more thing the Chinese owner should go back to China... These Chinese viruses should be kicked out of our city
