This is the new branch of Mandarin restaurant. There is also another branch located in southern avenue. The best thing I liked about this joint is the food , it's quality and quantity. If you are looking for meal of two people then this is quite pocket friendly and the brownie points goes to the kind of food served here. Although it is not decorated in a fancy manner but I think the food here suffice that.

Visited Mandarin (Lake Market Area) on 09/10/2024. This outlet is within walking distance from Menoka Cinema and is relatively unknown compared to their first outlet near Southern Avenue crossing which leads to the Lake Gardens flyover. We ordered: 1) Drums of Heaven - Rs 355 2) Mixed Cantonese Chow - Rs 295 3) Chilli Garlic Fish - Rs 500 4) Cold Drinks - Rs 30 each The ambience is simple but cosy. Their USP is the food quality. All the items we ordered were lip-smacking. Service is reasonably good. All the restaurants of this chain which includes Tung Fong, Beijing, Kim Ling and the older outlet of Mandarin are known for their excellent food quality and this one doesn't disappoint either. If you prioritize food over ambience, you will certainly enjoy dining at this restaurant.

Wel known place to have authentic Chinese food. Best suited for family dinner. Limited space but food quality was satisfactory. Fish starter was delicious. Soup was fantastic also very high in quantity. Went there for a small hangout so couldn't try much. Will try main course in next visit.

One of best Chinese restaurant in town. The quantity is much more than any other restaurants so please as them before ordering. Their half plate is similar to full plate of other restaurant.

I am a regular customer of this restaurant. The food is good but please take care while making the fried rice . Yesterday I went with my spouse and ordered some food. Everything was good except the mixed fried rice. It was horrible. All the vegetables in the fried rice were uncooked and the quality of the rice is very bad and that was stiff also. Please improve the quality. Not expected from a brand owned by Mrs. Monica liu.

Portion was way very less from usual dine in and takeaway. 2. Rice noodles had very limited amount of prawn pieces, i could literally count the nos. 7 small pieces were there in the pack. Taste was disgusting 3. Same goes for Fried rice 4. Garlic chicken was more of cornflour and less of chicken. Gravy was full of cornflour and pathetic taste. Chicken pieces were heavily coated with cornflour. I could only taste cornflour in the gravy. The gravy was as thick as mud. Highly disappointed with Mandarine. I have eaten from Mandarine for n no. of times. But never thought it will stoop so low in quality and quantity.

This is a very old Chinese restaurant in South Kolkata. Went there with my parents last week. The quality of the food has degraded a lot and is not upto the mark with the prices they are charging now. One of our dinner items was stale. For the larger audience, this is not a fine dine restaurant ( the place being very small ) and also not a budget friendly option for a quick bite.

I ordered for chilli honey chicken.dry...at a price of 360 rupees there were only 6 pieces of chicken..and it was not dry. Instead of honey sugar was used and the grains of sugar was not even mixed..totally regret. What happened Mandarin? This will be the last time I will have anything to do with you.
