MASTER JACKIE : Where Tangra Tradition Meets Fine Dining. 🥟🍜🍨 If you’re looking for authentic Chinese with an ambiance that’s 10/10, this is it. They went on a culinary journey through their menu and here’s the verdict: Drinks: The Mandarin Mule is the ultimate refresher. Starters: From Roasted Chilli Pork to Pan Fried Fish with Garlic and Chives everything was incredibly delicate but the Pork Dumplings in Chilli Drop Oil stole the show. Mains: Classic comfort with a kick - the Chicken in Chilli Oil and Cantonese Pan Fried Noodles are a match made in heaven. Loved the Chilli Garlic Fish as well. Dessert: You can’t leave Kolkata without trying the Nolen Gur Ice Cream. A total standout in Kolkata’s Chinese food scene. Do yourself a favor and book a table here ASAP.

Master Jackie is a fantastic spot for Chinese food. The dishes were flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked, with a great balance of spices (extra cause I asked ) and textures. From the noodles to the stir-fries, everything tastes authentic and satisfying. The service is friendly, and the overall experience makes it a place I’d happily visit again. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious Chinese cuisine!

We visited Master Jackie back in February, just after it had opened, when the Chinese New Year menu was on. The place had received a lot of hype, especially from food creators in Kolkata, so expectations were naturally high. The experience, however, was surprisingly disappointing. The dim sums, soup, rice, and chilli chicken that we ordered did not live up to the buzz. The portion size for the Chilli Chicken was abysmally small, and even the gravy fell short. The food itself lacked the flavour and depth one would expect at this price point. The city has some excellent Chinese eateries, which made the comparison even harder in its favour. It may be possible that we did not order the crowd favourites, and that may have influenced our experience. Even so, based on what we had, I would personally avoid this place. A fine dining restaurant at this price point should offer far more refined flavours and a much more satisfying dining experience.

We had a hugely underwhelming experience at this restaurant and can’t understand the hype. It was a clear reminder of how hard it is to trust influencer recommendations. The food was just basic—certainly not worth the price—and the service was worse. After a struggle with the booking, the staff were slow, disorganized, and untrained for the demand. Overall, it was a disappointing visit, and I won’t be returning.

Worst food, pathetic service, incorrect order, dismissive staff…. For these prices, this is unacceptable. Do not waste your time or money here; you're better off going anywhere else…
