Visited so many restaurants till today but didn’t get this kind of hospitality from any restaurant. The staffs are something beyond of my imagination. The food was so tasty like always. Can’t disrespect their hospitality, care and love with numbers and ratings.. lots of love for entire new cathay team

This bar and restaurant is 100+ years old. The theme matches that. We went there for a quick lunch, so we didn’t order drinks. We had Indian food and surprisingly it was exceptional. The service could’ve been faster though.

Heard a lot of good things about this restaurant.So me,my sister and 1 of my friend went there to try their food.The place has very old calcutta charm.Resturant was decorated for Christmas. We ordered Mutton potato chop,chilli prawn as starters and New Cathy special chowmein as a main dish MUTTON POTATO CHOP=It was tasty.It has very mild taste,not very rich.It cames with sautéed veggies.(4/5) CHILLI PRAWN=It has sweet and spicy falvour.At first you won't feel the heat but after some time you will feel spiciness.I didn't like the dish that much but my friend loved it.(3.5/5) NEW CATHY SPECIAL CANTONESE STYLE CHOWMEIN=It came with a poached egg on top and chips.It had lots of vegetables,small prawns,chicken.It was perfect.I liked it very much.But its very heavy dish.1 portion is enough for 3 person after eating starters.(5/5) Our total bill was 1080 rs(with gst) I wanted to try their famous liver on toast but we were full so couldn't but next time I will definitely try. The person who was serving us was very sweet. They have seperate room for smoking and has upper part of AC section.One thing I didn't like was that they have wash basin inside the washroom. Had a great time.Will visit again.

This could've been the best heritage bar in Kolkata; unfortunately, there is no AC in the main dining area. However, the ambiance will transport you to the '90s, and it’s truly beautiful. Located in the prime area of Kolkata Esplanade, beside the Grand Hotel, this place embodies the nostalgia of retro Kolkata. The behavior of some staff members and the service here are also excellent. Fish Liver Gin @ Rs.385 (5/5) ---------------------------------------- Recommended by their staff member, Mr. Firoz, this dish stands out in a sea of bars that serve only a few pieces as starters while charging a premium. It was a full meal, featuring sautéed veggies, fresh fish with a batter fry coating, mild spices, and a flavorful sauce—super delicious! I also tried their Drums of Heaven and Chicken Kasturi Kebab, which were both quite average. Food and drinks prices are quite average. This place may not be ideal for the sweltering summer days of Kolkata, but it's definitely worth a visit on a rainy or cool day and I'm planning the same.

Awesome food. Fish finger was just heavenly. 9pcs for315 at ac bar in Esplanade. I would say quite cheap. All the items of main course also tasted good. Great service. Cool ambience . Nice presentation. Overall a satisfying xprnc. Do visit here...

Visited on 5Jan23. Old school places of Kolkata, staff is courteous & attentive (at least in the AC section). The drinks menu is very limited, light beers got exhausted during our visit only, many variants of alcohol (gin, appertifs, alcopop) were not available in the menu only! Food & drink prices are higher than Zomato menu; please update the same.
