Phoenix Bar/ Club The Astor Hotel Kolkata Touted as one of the 'cool joints’ in town,tales of it stirred my impatient and insatiable palate and it wasn’t long before I paid a visit. The place was already bustling by late evening when I arrived. As one walks in ,the transition in the atmosphere from the perpetually hum drum dust and grime laden environment to the almost phosphorescent multi hued mood uplifting lights tuned to the ecstatic beats of the changing melodies churned out by the DJ from his selections is evident and yet unobtrusive to one’s finer senses. And this really sat well with me,as it would with anyone else!!Because who doesn’t love a evening at such a exquisitely delightful place where you can not only indulge your self gastronomically but also blow off much needed steam listening to music,gossiping with friends and special ones. Man!! This place is good for couples,stags,girl groups and anyone with the time and dime. Now,gastronomic was the word we were all waiting with abated breath and well here we are. So with out much ado I will jump straight on what I did try and how amazing their combos were. So here it is:- Various range of cocktails and mocktails makes up for must try. You can also try whiskey, martini, sangria, mojitos and other drinks. The new offer of alcohol combos with 5 premium beers at 1000, 4 cocktails at 1200, 3 LIITs at 1000. Also you may choose 1 Burger and pizza + 2 beers at 799, 2 burger and 1 pizza + 4 beers at 1099 or 4 burgers 1 pizza + 8 beers at 1500 ( veg and non veg) both available. Well,keeping it straight I was blown by the place,the lights,the music what you called ambience was elixir to the senses and the good was just right along with the drinks. Connoisseur or not you are going to enjoy this place and the buzz it returns to your life. Just loved the place. Went there for ladies night. Got free shots and cocktails on the house. Plus 50% off on the total bill which is basically the food bill. Best place to chill with your girl gang. More people equals to more fun. Generally opens at 5pm. And the crazy crowd starts within 6pm. It's a must visit place. And DJ rishi boy be the best.

I have been visiting The Astor Hotel and Phoenix Club since 2009, and for many years on the trot now, I have been provided with a loyalty membership upon its introduction by invite. I regarded this establishment as a trusted and respectable venue. Regrettably, my recent experiences have been both concerning and alarming: • Wrongful billing by staff, sometimes seemingly intentional, when they miss charging the concerned customer. This often leads to arguments, and staff attempt to take advantage of the situation, presuming patrons are under the influence or forgetful. • Lousy and vulgar comments exchanged among staff inside the bar service area, which has prompted confrontations from patrons, often escalating into verbal spats. • Rude and unprofessional conduct from certain staff. • Security staff soliciting tips, creating a compromised environment. Those who comply appear to receive undue advantages, including entry in large male groups, who then target couples and groups where women are present. Most regular patrons would, I am certain, agree with the concerns mentioned here and have faced similar hardships. Many have witnessed repeated incidents of aggressive behaviour and misconduct, which have unfortunately altered the atmosphere. The clientele has shifted from a once affluent and refined base to a noticeably less discerning and disorderly crowd. Despite several formal complaints made by, the management has remained entirely unresponsive. For a property of such heritage, this silence is most disappointing and raises genuine concerns about guest safety, professional standards, and overall atmosphere. Until the management addresses these issues transparently and responsibly, I would urge fellow citizens and travellers to exercise caution when considering The Astor Hotel and Phoenix Club, as it no longer reflects the secure and reputable environment it once promised to provide.

Really bad and Unprofessional After telling us and offering free Vodka to the lady we were charged everything and even though after asking the manager("which he claimed he was") there was no respite ... Really unprofessional and unasked for ...going back at their word ...being really pathetic for all it takes ! ...

They can maybe filter their crowd or maybe the crowd isn't good for people who are not from Kolkata. We literally had the worst party experience, guys were trying to be closer than the limit, and because of this I have decided not to party in KOLKATA EVER :)

3rd class service. They will allow people based on your skin tone and appearance. If your skin tone is dark, then they will not allow you to enter. Pathetic service and behaviour.
