## A Masterclass in North Indian Hospitality: Our Weekend at Punjabi RASOI While the weekend policy at **Punjabi RASOI** (nestled in Kasba near Acropolis Mall) typically dictates "no reservations," a brief phone call proved that hospitality often trumps protocol. Upon hearing we were making the trek from Newtown, the owner offered a bit of insider coordination: "Call me when you cross the ITC hotel." By the time we arrived, a cozy corner table was waiting—a small gesture that set the stage for an extraordinary afternoon. What followed was a masterclass in the art of the Tandoor and the Kadhai. ### The Prelude: Starters that Sing We began our journey with a trio of kebabs that redefined "tender": * **Chicken Lasoni Kebab:** Succulent, ivory-soft pieces of chicken, where the pungent warmth of garlic was a whisper rather than a shout. * **Mutton Adraki Kebab:** This was the showstopper. The meat was so incredibly buttery it practically dissolved on the tongue, boasting a perfect ratio of lean fiber to luscious fat, all brightened by the zing of ginger. * **Fish Tikka:** Flaky, moist, and infused with a smoky char that locked in the natural sweetness of the fish. ### The Main Event: A Symphony of Spice As we transitioned to the mains, the owner—whose warmth is as palpable as the aromas wafting from his kitchen—stopped by for a chat. Though we hadn't ordered it, he insisted we try the **Dal Makhni** as a gift from the house. It was, quite simply, a revelation. Silky, cream-laden, and slow-simmered to a velvet consistency, it is easily the finest rendition I have encountered. We paired this with: * **Chicken Tikka Butter Masala:** A sophisticated departure from the norm. Instead of the usual overpowering hit of *kasuri methi*, this was a delicate tightrope walk between the acidity of sun-ripened tomatoes and the deep, jammy sweetness of caramelized onions. * **Mutton Saag:** A visual and culinary delight. The vibrant, earthy greens were beautifully folded into the rich, crimson gravy of the mutton, retaining their texture and color without being lost in the heat. * **Garlic Naan:** Pillowy, blistered in all the right places, and fragrant with garlic—the ultimate vessel for scooping up every last drop of gravy. ### The Verdict Punjabi RASOI doesn't just serve food; they curate an experience. From the polite, intuitive staff to the owner’s genuine passion for his craft, it was a meal that felt less like a commercial transaction and more like a Sunday lunch at the home of a very talented friend. If you find yourself on the EM Bypass, do yourself a favor: make the detour. Your palate will thank you.

I recently visited Punjabi Rasoi, and the food was honestly to die for. I’m someone who doesn't typically eat much non-veg, but I was completely blown away. The Adrak ke Panje are on a whole different level they literally melt in your mouth and the ginger-infused flavor is incredible. I’m not kidding, I "ripped into them" and finished every single bite. We also tried the Dal Makhani and Paneer Tikka, which were just as impressive—rich, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. Even the Roti was spot on: fresh, warm, and the perfect companion to the meal. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. They were so attentive and genuinely nice, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. If you’re looking for authentic food and a welcoming vibe, this is the place. I loved it! Super experience all around

I’ve visited Punjabee Rasoi many times, and every single time I’ve been impressed by their food. Whether it’s the Adrak ke Panje, Lassoni Kebab, or Kabuli Naan—everything has always been spot on. Today, I decided to try something different and went with the Mutton Saag and Malai Naan. And wow—I was completely blown away! The flavors were absolutely fantastic. The Malai Naan was so delicious, you could easily enjoy it on its own without any gravy. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already!

I had heard a lot about this restaurant over the years but had never quite made a visit. Eventually, I visited. I had the chicken bharta which was suggested as their specialty and paired it with butter naan. The chicken bharta was amazingly prepared and delectable. The portion size is small considering it is priced heftily at Rs.440. The naan is soft and fluffy as it should be. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Best in food, no other north Indian place can match their taste and quality. On the other hand, service is very callous and rushed. They don't even let you finish your food before trying to evict you from your table for the next guests.

Good only as a take-away place. The food is good but the service is very bad.

I have been there 2-3 times earlier but this time I took my friends for my birthday party on 6th May and the experience was terrible. They have worst rules and regulations there. Few 4 of my friends were late due to traffic and 5 including me reached there but they didn’t allow us to sit and asked us to wait at the waiting room and that’s a store room actually. When I asked that we can sit and order something because we’re hungry they said they can’t allow us till the time everybody is reaching because it will block their table and that’s a shitty reason. Then we shout on them and after arguing they allowed us to sit and order. After that the food was not that good, Biriyani was cold and after eating half I found an ant in it. Though they changed the plate and offered me another full but I am not happy because that’s not a solution because if there is any other insects the entire food will be poisoned. In fact there no insect killer or may be proper pest control because a fly type insect fall on my water too suddenly. According to the money we are paying the service is not at all acceptable.
