From the beginning, it is difficult to place an order. the person taking the order has to cater to many tables and has no patience. they refused to serve regular house water. only bottled water. only after we insisted, that we were served house water. and that too reluctantly. the waiter would serve a small portion to some of the diners and leave.

I ordered just a plate of idli vada and filter coffee. Guess what it took them 20 mins to get idli only and then 5 mins later cakes the vada. I asked for filter and that was not ready so I cancelled it. They need to improve their service. Also cost wise it is slightly high as the idly size was very small, vada was ok.

This review is about Ramanee - RCTC branch. We went there on Sunday (1st of February, 2026) with my family. We were 6 people in total. The manager allotted us a table which was very small for 6 people, so we asked for a bigger table which was anyways empty. But the manager constantly argued saying that, they provide the requested table to a group of 12 people though the table was for 6 people and did not allot the bigger table even after requesting multiple times. The requested table remain empty till we were there and no group of 12 people arrived. They provided us with another table which was also small for 6 people but better than the 1st one. That was not all, we repeatedly had to look for the staffs and manager himself as they were not available that much. The food was served on time and they were good as usual, as I have been there before also. Overall service for my 3rd time visit was not satisfactory because of the staff’s behaviour and attention to customer.

Visited Ramanee in the RCTC Campus on 20-12-25 (That branch is not listed in Zomato) The Ambiance is top notch, food was also good but its so so expensive!! We had :- Kapi (Filter Coffee) @ Rs. 150 each Papdi Chaat @ 120 packaged drinking water(1lit) @ 60 (Although MRP Rs. 20) Now comes the worst part Day Membership @ Rs. 50 (for 1 person) Accompanying Guest Membership @ Rs. 60 (for every additional person beyond 1) Why???? Add 18% GST to all above... If you visit on a SAT or SUN, They will not allow you to visit the Gallery from where Horse Race is seen...despite taking a day membership charge forcefully without even uttering about it before billing!!! Old colonial mindset persists!!! STAFF was not rude but overall didnt like it since so many hidden charges persists and then they dontballow you to use those facilities. Sorry am not visiting again.

I visited the one at RCTC today for lunch. The restaurant was empty and we were 5 people so we requested for the bigger table. They manager said it was reserved for his MD so we had to cramp in uncomfortably in a smaller table. Was a complete white lie. No one turned up on that table the whole time we were there and till we left. But they couldn’t give us the big table to act cool and show attitude. Colonial hangover. The British left India. But left a few people behind to disrespect Indians.

Ruined our family dinner.. staff behaviour is rude service is poor..no menu card even after 10 min.. staff managing people outside is super rude..switched off all lights and fan when we were waiting for cab. worst ever
