Had a wonderful and very fulfilling lunch at Ramanee - The Soul of Dakshin, located inside the heritage Royal Calcutta Turf Club. This place is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. The entire property is stunning - beautifully restored colonial architecture, high ceilings, black & white chequered floors, cane furniture and warm lighting. Very calm, elegant and premium. They had a beautiful Bommai display inside which added such a festive, traditional touch. Coming to food - we tried authentic South Indian: • Mysore Masala Dosa. Huge, golden and super crispy. Served with 4 accompaniments - sambar, coconut chutney, kara chutney and potato masala. Perfectly roasted with coconut powder. One of the best dosas I've had in Kolkata. • Sambar Vada. Two big, fluffy vadas soaked in hot, tangy and flavourful sambar. The sambar was authentic with drumsticks and was not too spicy. Comforting! • Rava Kesari. Served on a banana leaf, it was warm, rich in ghee, with cashews and raisins. The perfect sweet ending. • Kapi. Strong, frothy and aromatic filter coffee served in a traditional steel tumbler-davara. Just like in Tamil Nadu. A must-have here. Service was very courteous, staff were attentive and the presentation was top-notch. Portion sizes are generous and worth the price for the heritage location and quality. If you want authentic South Indian food in a luxurious, peaceful heritage setting in Kolkata, Ramanee at RCTC is highly recommended. Will definitely visit again! ♥️

If you want to try authentic south Indian food at it’s best, please visit this restaurant once and you will love this place. Very minimal decoration with nice array of foods to choose from. We tried Paneer Ghee roast dosa, Masala Dosa and Ellaneer Payesam. It was coconut kheer with rich milk and was awesome. You can also choose from their dosa powder which they are selling as retail.

Good food, clean place and calm ambience, polite staff. mini fried idlis might be smaller than your expectations but each bite with the tomato chutney is sooo worth it! clean washroom and basins for the visitors. the overall place is also beautiful!

This restaurant is actually superb. The name suits perfectly~ it is the king of the south. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is top notch

Ruined our family dinner.. staff behaviour is rude service is poor..no menu card even after 10 min.. staff managing people outside is super rude..switched off all lights and fan when we were waiting for cab. worst ever

We went to RCTC. Firstly, cleanliness is a problem, there was food in every chair ! None of item was good, some were not authentic also
