Kolkata is a heavenly place for telebhaja lovers like me. Even if you have a small penny, you can satisfy your tummy with the street foods in Kolkata no doubt in that. Evening snacks have a special place for people in Kolkata who love trying variations of quick bites and snacks from local food stalls. One such recommended place is Samrat Snacks located at Lord's More, close to south city mall. The place is quite decent with seating arrangement accomodating 4-6 people. We decided to try their famous fish roll and fish fry. The roll (Rs 90/-) was delicious with fresh basa fish fillets inside it, the outer part being crispy. Coming to the fish fry (Rs 70/-), it needed no introduction. Fish fry has become a marker of authentic bengali cuisine. The size was perfect with fresh filleted bhetki fish. Some of their must try items are chicken cutlet, fish fingers, chicken cutlet, prawn pakora, mughlai, momos etc. They are also serving different combo meals which you can sit and have or opt for a takeway. They have home delivery services too.The prices of the items are affordable and the quality is good The staffs are courteous and friendly. If you are planning to indulge in some good snacks, you can definitely check out this place. Highly recommended!

Must try: Chicken tandoori, Mutton/chicken biriyani, Mutton/chicken kosha, Mixed fried rice, chilly fish. Taste is amazing. Quantity is also great, 1/2 plate biriyani/fried rice would be enough for one. Provides healthy, good quality food. According to me, it is better than Arsalan for chicken tandoori.

Smelly chilly fish pls avoid chinese here. The chicken roll and fish fry was good. The manager initially admitted the fact but later refused to acknowledge it when asked for replacement

One of my favourite takeaways. Totally love their fish fry, chicken cutlet and chinese combo which consists of chicken fried rice, 2 fish fingers and 2 pieces of chili chicken. Although I feel the quality has degraded.

After relocated to my new office. I tried mutton biryani from Samrat as it is very near my office. Samrat is mainly a take away counter with no seating arrangement. If you want seat you have to take a chair and seat outside the joint. Location wise it's on the main Lords 4 points connector. I ordered only half plate of mutton biryani, which consists of 1 soft succulent small mutton piece , 1 boiled egg and a potato. Biryani is overall very average, just like a roadside biryani stall. I felt quantity was somehow lesser than other joints. Though mutton was perfectly cooked and very soft. Next time will try something else.

Their fish products are good which include fish fingers. Since I have to complete the review to make it 140 characters, the rolls are decent as well. But products sell here like hot cake.

It's a nice and good place to eat on the go. It's kind of a street food place and serves almost indian Chinese and quite bites. It has a sitting arrangement outside openly

Dear Mr Owner, I have been eating from your outlet since a long time. Today , I have promised to myself that I will never visit your outlet ever. What kind of staff do you have? Mr Tulu doesn't even know how to behave . He made me wait for my order for one hour then he says it will not be possible to cater me as some ingredients ( prawns) were not available and since the outlet was open till early morning it was not possible for them to serve lunch orders. I understand it's hectic for the staff, the outlet should be closed for lunch in that case.Since my order was cancelled by Mr Tulu I had to buy briyani in place of Chinese food. The briyani was Horrible. Uncooked meat, uncooked potatoes and horrible Rice quality. What a horrible experience!! And please tell Mr Tulu to at least speak properly with the guests specially ladies.
