Yes, they have managed to have infused a good deal of Mughal flavours in their Nawabi platters 👌♨️✨️

Got Mutton Biryani take-away. Loved the biryani, good quantity, full size Aloo with a big piece of mutton.

Just like every other biryani brand in West Bengal, Shimla Restaurant is riding the biryani wave and expanding rapidly. This iconic name, which started its journey from EM Bypass, now has several outlets across Kolkata — with Chinar Park and the newly opened Lake Town branch being part of the latest expansion. The ambiance at the Lake Town outlet is quite impressive — premium, spacious, and designed for a comfortable dine-in experience with two large dining areas. However, the maintenance falls short, especially the washroom, which really needs attention. On the bright side, service is prompt and efficient. Lashooni Kebab @ ₹365 (1/5) ------------------------------------------ Disaster. Four chicken lollipops, all burned and dry — absolutely inedible. A total waste of good meat and money. I had high hopes, and this dish was nothing short of a slap in the face. Avoid ordering this at all costs. Mutton Biryani Special @ ₹495 (4/5) --------------------------------------------------- The Biryani turned things around for us. It was surprisingly good — the rice was fragrant, long-grained, and perfectly cooked. The mutton piece was decently sized and tender, and the potato was soft and well-cooked, as expected from a Kolkata-style biryani. The portion size was generous. While I won’t compare it with the city’s legendary biryani joints, I’ll say this — for ₹495, this is solid value. Especially when premium biryani spots in the city are now charging ₹700–₹800 and above for similar portions, dining here at this price point in a plush location like Lake Town feels like a win.

I ordered 2 mutton biryani from Shimla biryani, Lake town outlet through zomato. I dont like the taste. per plate cost is rs. 350 which is too much comparing to the taste and quality of the biriyani. In one packet the mutton piece was very hard. I won't recommend it.

I tried the chicken Kebab platter, mutton biriyani and masala cola. The kebabs were very dry. The biriyani was very salty.. The waiters kept on asking for tips..

I ordered three plates of Chicken Chap from Shimla Biryani, Lake Town through Zomato today, but the food delivered was stale and unfit to eat. When I contacted the restaurant, they asked me to reach out to Zomato, and Zomato, in turn, asked me to contact the restaurant. I ended up getting no help from either side. I had requested a replacement or refund, but no initiative was taken. Very disappointing experience — both the food quality and customer support were unacceptable.

Had Ordered Biriyani. And Specifically mentioned that to give Oil free Dry Rice. They gave a container full of Oil. That was a full wastage of money and health. Lesson learnt. Never ever ordering again. If you are ordering be ready for an unpleasant experience. They charge you a ton of money and give biriyani like that of a street side shop. Pathetic..!! Never Ordering again.

Biriyani taste was worst. Further to add Raita which was sweet in taste (which is strange) was charged extra.
