The thing is that I'm not a huge fan of Japanese food. I find that it is more towards the bland side and I like my food well seasoned. At Soy Yum not one single dish had anything less than PERFECT seasoning and flavour. On a whim I ordered their miso tonjiro soup. It's an accompaniment known for being very simple. But thanks to the chefs at Soy Yum this was probably one of the best soups I've ever had. Never did I think I'd write this about miso soup. We also tried two kinds of sushi - both amazing and a carpaccio which was very fresh. Also what a great ambience! Amazing live music thanks to Mojo Cal and just the perfect vibe. I cannot wait to go back to this place.

Had a wonderful dinner experience at Soy yum once again. Had tempura Chicken maki, spicy prawn dimsum, chicken gyoza and ukin sakura chicken ramen. also had kombucha. Everything was very good. sakura ramen was excellent. kombucha had real fermentation taste. may not be everyone's liking. They have a street side parking space and valet parking too. open till 11 pm. ambience is basic but aesthetic.

The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it ideal for both a casual meal and a special occasion. The staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to guide you through the menu if you’re unsure what to order. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for sushi lovers. Great food, great service, and an experience that leaves you wanting to come back again.

Feb'26: We Enjoyed Japanese Cuisine @ Soy Yum, Salt Lake 😊 This Valentine's, a couple of us foodie girlfriends celebrated Galantines at Soy yum, the Salt Lake based relatively new and popular restaurant known for its authentic Japanese cuisine. We ordered - ... Veg Miso Soup ... Veg Californian Maki ... Tofu Katsu Curry Rice ... Tobanjan Miso Ramen Veg ... Veg Mazesoba: Japanese Dry Noodles Ramen ... Edgie Veggie Sandwich ... Eggless German Chocolate Cake All the items tasted nice. But we absolutely loved the curry, cake and sandwich. In spite of the festive rush, the staff was quite courteous and attentive. #vfr1268

Great sushi options for vegetarians. Also tried their beverages, some of them are really a great take on classic combination. The one in the picture is a Peach Sprtizer. A little too sour for my liking but overall great fizz. I have been to Soy Yum several times before, and while service professionals are extremely polite and prompt each time, they often need to be called upon instead of intuitively noticing and adding glasses/ refilling water-bottles at the table. Rest of the experience was amazing here.

No qualms with the food, we ordered a sushi boat, odyaki dan, taro, mr. Miyagi and crab croquettes. Food was albeit delicious but service was slow and the side where we were seated was not being tended to enough by the servers.

The service charge should not be added automatically as per new SC rulings but they added that, pls look after the same from next time
