I have never thought south indian non veg dishes to be so amazing. I knew Tamarind Restaurant. but never went there to have food. Today I went with my mother as a treat to her in women's day. Although the service is a little late and u have to stand in que in weekends but when I tasted the food it all worth it. We had Coconut Rice, Mutton Chettinad , Prawn Malabar Curry with Coromandel mojito. the food was soo tasty the prawns one is my favourite. and I had never had Coconut in rice but such dn explosion of flavours it had. mutton was tender and melt in my mouth. amazing 😍 the ambience as well very different from other restaurants. the vibe of a south indian house and culture scattering around. I may be wrong but I spotted a Murugan Idol in the restaurant which they decorated with flowers. lastly I would love to recommend the restaurant to other people who would love to try a little different south indian cuisine and explore it a little bit. the only con is service. it can be improved a little bit.

Finally Visited Kolkata’s favorite coastal kitchen where every bite takes you to the shores of South India. The food quality is consistently excellent, fresh and flavourful. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and the staffs are very polite. We had • Mutton Stew. Cotton like tender mutton cooked with coconut milk, tastes extremely soothing. It immediately gives a homely comfort. • Chicken Kori Gassi. A beautifully crafted dish with a rich flavour and spice. Also the chicken pieces were damn tender. • Malabar Paratha. Flaky, crispy yet soft. Goes amazing with Kori Gassi. • Appam. Good as it should be. • Elaneer Payasam. A refreshing South Indian dessert that is basically tender coconut kheer. Tastes delicious, full of tender coconut chunks. With decent pricing and a serene atmosphere, Tamarind is a must-visit!

Ohhh myyyy godddd Whereee have you been all my lifeee? This is exactly how I felt after visiting Tamarind. I know this place existed in Deshapriya Park for years but hadn’t been able to go there for various reasons. Then finally the time comes. We went to celebrate my mom’s bday lunch there. And the experience is so so so good. We took, 1. Coorg Chicken (so damn tasty) 2. Lemon Rice (must have no matter what) 3. Malabar Chicken (must have if tou want non spicy main course) 4. Coriander Rice (good) 5. Kori Gassi (I just loved it) And the best thing, 6. Payasam (even if the world is ending make sure to have this. Made of tender coconut shredded in rich coconut milk so yummy 🙂‍↔️) The service was top notch and quick. I will visit this places again ♥️

I had a quick visit to this place alone and must say it uplifted my moments especially the service can't recall the young survive man's name however had his snap with me and uploading in my review section . the food they serve is truly refined quality with balance of taste and quantity is well maintained. the south Indian dish I tried is appam (both egg &cheese) with coconut mutton stew a recommended combination and their in-house speciality . no complaints but have more expectations on further visits to be more excited with creative authentic Cuisines

It was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Mutton stew paired with Appam touched our soul. The concoction of flavours of the Kotthu paratha — simply delicious! Cannot wait to visit again to try many more dishes. Only tip is to go early as there’s a long wait time on weekends.

Excellent food with authentic flavor, very good service, polite behaved staff, nice cosy ambience. one advice, fix the main door arrangement, so that no one can sneak from outside, it doesn't feel good while seated on the first table.

We used to enjoy this place but in recent times their service has turned disgusting Yesterday went for Onam Sadya. Till 7 30 PM they were closed citing water problems and then food problems All this would have been acceptable but their silly watchman was the rudest person not even allowing us to wait indoors and wanted us to wait on the road even though they were running late Now I know why we avoided this place for so many years A big thumbs down
