Food without drinks is like Sandwich without cheese or Omelets without onion! Yes, get ready for the ultimate twist in drinks in this festive season. Welcome to ‘The Library – De Sovrani’. The Pub offers you such unconventional twist that will surely blow your mind away. Few days ago they launched some new item for their customer, especially for this Christmas time. The menu includes some drinks item as well as some food items also. So let’s find out, what they have added to their menu list! On the Drinks section, they introduced these cocktails – 1. Christmas Delight – Whisky blended with Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate and Sugar Syrup. Great in taste and must try item for Chocolate lover alcoholic person. 2. Coriander Julep – Vodka infused drinks made of Gandharaj Lemon, Coriander leaves and Lemonade. Refreshing. 3. Wake Up Kolkata – Vodka based drink with punch of Lemon and orange juice. If you want to have citric flavor drink, then this one is only made for you. 4. Just Nolengur – Dark Rum based drink with punch of Nolen Gur, Lemon Juice & Ginger Strips. The drink was okay okay type but need to do some work on this. They also have other offers too for this festive month. The offer includes – A. 6 Small Premium Whiskey (Signature or Blender's Pride) + 1 Veg / Non Veg Platter = 799 AI B. 4 Pint of Domestic Beer + 1 bucket of Fries = 799 AI C. 4 small Black Dog / Teachers HL + 1 Veg / Non Veg Platter = 899 AI. Now come to the food they introduced to their new menu – 1. Shanghai Spring Roll – Though I’m a non veg lover, but as a starter item, I really like this one. Crispy coating roll with fresh veggies inside. Served with Schezwan Sauce. 2. Keshari Murg Tikka – Malai chicken with saffron touch in it. The Chicken had the perfect balance of Curd and saffron flavor. Love the tenderness and the aroma. 3. Dahi ke Kabab – One of the best less oily Kebab ever had. Hang Yogurt sallow fried with other Indian spices. The item simply melt in your mouth. Love it. 4. Home-made Fish Fingers – Traditional fish finger, served with two different types of dips. 5. Subz Tandoori Khazana – This is basically a veg kebab platter with multi items like Broccoli, Paneer, Mushroom and Veg tikka kebab. All were just awesome and the Paneer and mushroom one was really out of world. 6. Drums of Heaven – One of my favorite starter item. Chicken pieces were fried with chili sauce. With tossed spring onion, it taste really awesome. 7. Classic Bruschetta – Garlic bread with sun dried chilly, olive on top. With salsa sauce and grated cheese on top, it taste really good. 8. Pan fried chilly fish – Soft and juicy fish pieces are fried with this sauce coating. Must try item here. 9. Wok tossed Lamb – if the above mentioned items were good, then this was the real show stopper. Sliced lamb pieces were perfectly tossed in black bean sauce. Love the flavor. So why wait? Library of De Sovrani is not your regular library, it is not full of books nor it offers book for reading to its guests. Library is a new age classy bar cum restaurant, located at Sector I of Saltlake, very near to City Center, Saltlake. At the very first I told it's classy and truly it is. It's not your regular bar where loud music are played on and millennials are the major crowd. Rather Library maintains the age old essence mixed with new belongings. Frankly speaking Library is beyond the pub culture, and I liked it on the first visit. Now coming to the Library's extravagant offering of beverages and main cuisines - we had Classic bruschetta, Dahi ke kebab, Shanghai spring roll (veg), Drums of heaven (of chicken with bone), Subz Tandoori khazana (veg and non veg tandoori platter), Wok tossed lamb with garlic and black bean sauce (one of the best lamb preparation I tasted recently), Pan fried chilli fish (another A++ dish), Homemade fish fingers with minty smashed peas and Kesari murgh tikka. Library is having a bunch nice offer for the festive season: 1. 6 small Premium Whiskey (signature or Blender's Pride) + 1 veg/ non veg platter @ Rs 799 (all inclusive) 2. 4 pint of Domestic Beer + 1 bucket of Fries @ Rs 799 (all inclusive) 3. 4 small Black Dog/ Teachers HL + 1 veg/non veg platter @ Rs 899 (all inclusive) However we went for cocktails - mostly fusion based and festive season backed. Christmas delight (Ice Cream based), Just Nolen gur (one of the innovative ideas, but frankly speaking rum did not make a justice to nolen gur), Coriander juleep (very much basic cocktail with a coriander smell by the leaves), Wakeup kolkata (orange based mostly, but tastes good).  The price is bit up, but ambience and service wise Library is one of the finest of Kolkata.

Excellent Bar. Good decor and service. Plus point is you can't find noisy mannerless weird guests.Though books in the library are not available for reading it seems (who cares). Recommended place.

The place is good. Service can be better. Food quality is good. Price for drinks as well as food is reasonable. Perfect place to hangout with friends.

Please note the restaurant is closed for renovations and maintenance. Please be informed because I had been there and was disappointed to find it closed. Worst part I wasn’t informed and they were put up for Zomato Gold.

Average place - music was unnecessary loud & not fun. The management doesn't get how to create a good vibe. I went with a friend and I believe only reason to select this place could be the 2+2 Zomato Gold offer.

Regular at this place , but only one issue that as the place is not big enough, plays very loud music inspite of not being a disc but a lounge bar . Repeated requests were ignored and so left early.

Okay, so where to start from. We visited this bar which is an outlet of Hotel De Sovrani in Salt lake, Sector 1. The experience was not as expected. The ambiance was quite unusual for a bar/lounge. We went around 7.30 pm. There was a DJ playing very loud party music which pretty much slaughtered the atmosphere. I feel they confused their place with a nightclub. Now comes the main part. We had Zomato Gold so we just wanted a couple of drinks and leave. But the bartender was extremely casual and simply denied the Gold benefits. At first I thought he wasn't aware of the Gold benefits which can happen if the staffs are newly hired or because of lack of proper training. But what caught my attention was the attitude of the "so-called" bartender. He had so much disdain towards us. Firstly, we couldn't figure out whether he was the bartender cuz his attire and presentation was the worse than even Dhaba waiters. I know we were not any kind of Big Shots wearing fancy outfits, but that kind of judgement was extremely rude. We wanted to escalate this matter to anybody superior in order to deal with the confusion. Then comes the Supervisor named Sarafat who looked totally stoned with Bloodshot eyes and equally unprofessional in every way. Even he was also in the same page, refusing us the 2+2 Gold deals on cocktails. After trying to explain him how Zomato Gold works, he seemed to agree and told the bartender to make 2 cocktails who was still refusing to make. We were stunned by his behaviour. We asked for the manager and then things started to take some turn. The drinks we had were very poorly prepared and lacked presentation. Although alcohol is not my area of expertise but being an amateur bartender myself, I felt I could have made it better. By the time we had the drinks, the manager arrived. So finally we got Shantanu who was probably a manager of the hotel and had some decency. He said that Gold was recently introduced to them as a result there were confusions. I told him that confusions are very much acceptable and that they were not the first place that we visited. But the thing which was totally unacceptable was their attitude and how they differentiated people based on their looks and attire. Both of us work in the hospitality industry as well, specifically in hotels, but we are trained to serve everybody equally regardless of their profile. I would like to tell the management to hire people who are professional, knowledgeable and cooperative. Not these people from around the block. I wish I could see the name of the bartender but it was too dark inside. I could even eavesdrop on their discussion about us when the music was paused for sometime but I can't write those stuffs here on Zomato. The bartender and Sarafat showed exactly what class they belonged to. Anyways, it was a very awful experience.

Cocktails were pathetic. Especially the margaritas. The sangria was so so. Compared to the pricing the drinks are terrible. Lousy service. Music tracks were repeating on loop.
