⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a fantastic experience at Purgatory, Salt Lake during our Swiggy Instamart function. A special thanks to Poltu, the Supervisor, who was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the event. He personally ensured that our preferred food and drinks were served properly and took great care of all our requirements. His hospitality and proactive support really made a difference. Also, a big shoutout to Amlan for helping us arrange the club space and coordinating everything smoothly for our function. His support and coordination made the entire setup hassle-free. Really appreciate the entire team at Purgatory for making our event memorable. Special thanks to Poltu and Amlan for their excellent support and service. Highly recommended! 👏

Purgatory Pub in Sector 5 is a nice place to unwind with good music, a lively ambience, and a fun crowd. The drinks and food are decent, and the overall vibe is great for a casual night out with friends. Worth visiting if you’re looking for a pub experience in Sector 5.

Food was good but too loud music. Can impact person ear heavily. Even after repetitive saying they will not listen to lower the volume not for a single chance. Also service for food is too high even after when the place is not fully occupied.

Unreasonably expensive… for example Rs 269 for a can of Diet Coke with MRP of 40/50 rs. Not worth it at all. The zomato discount or the inhouse discount on weekdays which they promote on social media is just an eyewash. And then they include service charge! Avoid

Disappointing Booking Experience – Read Before Visiting We booked a table for 7 at The Pourgattory through Zomato with a Flat 50% Off on the Entire Bill offer and a listed cover charge of ₹50 per person. Before booking, we specifically called to confirm the offer, booking acknowledgement, and availability of food and drinks. We were assured the offer was valid and the entire menu was available. Unfortunately, the actual experience was very different. On arrival, we were asked to pay ₹1,000 per person as a cover charge, which had not been mentioned during our earlier call. When we raised this, the receptionist insisted that it had been communicated. We were told ₹7,000 would be adjusted against our bill, with the 50% discount applying only to the remaining amount. For example, on a ₹20,000 bill, we would pay ₹13,500 instead of ₹10,000 under the advertised offer. We specifically reconfirmed whether there were any other exclusions and were assured that the discount would apply to the remaining bill and the entire menu was available. Since it was already around 8 PM and finding another venue for seven people was difficult, we reluctantly proceeded. Despite booking in advance, we were initially expected to accommodate seven people at a table meant for four. After refusing, we were moved upstairs and had to request an additional chair. We were then asked to move AGAIN because people needed access to the DJ area. This was far from the organised experience one expects from an advance reservation. Things got worse when we were informed that drinks, mutton, prawns, and certain special fish items were excluded from the offer. The food menu was limited to a single page, and only a few bar menu items were available. None of these restrictions had been disclosed during our call, despite our specifically asking about the offer and menu availability. We have no issue paying fair prices or accepting reasonable exclusions when communicated upfront. Our concern is the significant difference between what we were told before visiting and the actual terms presented after arrival and payment. This prevented us from making an informed decision before committing to the venue. For comparison, we visited Afraa the previous day through an advance booking and experienced none of these issues. To acknowledge the positives, the food we ordered was good, the ambience was enjoyable, and Smriti was particularly understanding and helpful in listening to our concerns. My advice to anyone visiting based on any offer is to confirm everything beforehand—the actual cover charge, how it affects the discount, excluded items, menu availability, and seating arrangements. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. The venue may have good food and ambience, but in our case, the booking process lacked the transparency and coordination we expected. Better communication before customers arrive would have made a significant difference.

it was a proper fraud. we called asking for the availability of beers they said everything would be available but it was a lie. we pre booked from zomato with flat 50% off but upon sitting inside they said alcohol, prawn, mutton and bhetki wouldn't be included in the 50% off. also they didn't mention that there's a 1k charge per person when we called but they claimed that they mentioned. the sitting area is too congested. they didn't mention anything beforehand when we called but one by one they kept excluding things. fraud and basically a bad experience

The AC vent was leaking on me all the time I was there. Food was tremendously late. We ordered Chicken noodles and they arrived with some Veg noodles. Didn't even bother to notify us beforehand that they could not make our dish. Didn't give us any option to change our order. Even after serving us veg noodles they didn't tell us. After eating when we realised that we called them and asked and then they confessed to it. Additionally at the end they added a Rs 255 tip to our bill without even asking if we want to give the tip.

Worst management in the pubs across Kolkata. being someone who has been to various pubs in Tier 1s like Delhi Bangalore NCR as well Kolkata. I would rate it the worst. They didn't provide us with a table despite charging us the booking amount from District as well as the cover charge. The behaviour of the staff was beyond pathetic. Several other guests faced the same problem. Completely wasted our time and also had to argue with the door host to redeem our cover charge. Would recommend everyone to avoid this shithole.

Water was leaking from AC and directly falling on me. Non-veg chowmein was ordered. Nobody told us that it cannot be prepared or will take time. They casually changed our order to Veg chowmein and didn't even inform us. We asked and then got to know. At the end added a Rs 255 tip on their own to the end of the bill without even letting us know. Literally stealing money from people. Will never come to this restaurant neither will recommend.
