The food was average. Only a few of the dishes stand out. There was no prawn in the buffet brunch. the parmesan cheese wheel was their but the preparation was very sticky . the sauce was prepared earlier was was quickly tossed to the pan then the wheel and to our plate. dessert section was good.

most(and I do mean most)of the food was options were unavailable and only after multiple people showed their frustration that they brought in fresh food. The servers were nice though and the ambience was great, only the food was unavailable and quality not that great.

Okay so first thing first; not a lot of choices. Also, whatever was available was very average in taste. The mocktails included in the buffet was 2.5 out of 5. What was the need to even include such drinks which has zero taste? At this price range and as a brand I think it didn’t quite meet my expectations. Lastly, the dessert section came to the rescue; the only good thing about the buffet.

Funny experience at Square, Novotel yesterday evening. I requested a simple balanced dinner, little rice, chicken curry and veggies. Somehow the first plate that arrived looked like it was meant for three people. 😄 Finally they corrected it and the meal was actually quite good. Then Chef Ritwik very kindly offered complimentary mangoes. I happily waited almost 30 to 35 minutes for the mangoes and also for Chef Ritwik to return. Unfortunately, neither the mangoes nor the chef appeared again. 😅 What surprised me more was the follow up. Earlier, Square used to feel extremely customer service oriented. Now it feels like they still say the right things, but somewhere the seriousness towards commitments gets lost. Even when I tried to leave written feedback, nobody seemed interested in even reading it. So thank you so much Chef Ritwik. I genuinely kept waiting for those mangoes. 🥭

Very pathetic food quality compared to other 5 stars. There was no options to choose from considering we opted for a buffet. The taste and quality was also not upto the mark. Felt like the food was stale and just being laid out in buffet to clear old stock. Only chicken and fish available in buffet, food was cold and no proper tagging was done on food counters. We ordered white sauce pasta, which is usually made to order. However even the pasta was cold and no condiments were provided along with that. No one even for once bothered to ask on how was the food or if we have any feedback to share or not. I shall never recommend anyone to come and dine at The Square, Novotel Kolkata.
