Time to review the swig a heritage luxurious hotel and restaurant .A beautiful ,well maintained place.Looked amazing the way modern and vintage decor has been correlated. Now Coming to food its just average. We ordered for Pizza, alcohol and non alcoholic drinks and a chicken starter. Its just the experience that worth the money but not the food or drink. Definitely will suggest atleast one time visit to this place ..just to enjoy the beautiful ambience and decor.Gave rating 4 just for ambience and not for food.

'The Swig' situated on the courtyard of Raajkutir(Swabhumi) is magnificent in terms of its decoration. However, the sad part is very few items from the menu are actually available which turns down the expectations of the visitors to be honest. Here's a list of things we could finally manage to order: •Tangra Chilli Chicken(Rs 499). •Baklava(Rs 399) - A well plated dessert item. It is to be noted that the items we ordered tasted good and we received warm hospitality from the staffs.

My family of 5 stepped into The Swig amazed by the splendor of its interiors and planning to sit outdoors and have a drink. We came away feeling humiliated and shunned and the negativity of the entire experience created entirely by the bartender and waiter together left an absolutely disgusting taste in the mouth. My elderly parents, husband and 5 yr old son had come for a meal at the adjoining East Indian Room. We had a stellar experience and then walked across to The Swig because my husband felt like a post dinner drink and we really wanted fo check out the gorgeous interiors which was visible from outside. We were stopped at the door by the waiter whose reaction to us entering a "bar" was "but we are serving alcohol!". We assured him we wanted an alcoholic drink, he kept trying to send us back to the East Indian Room which felt extremely strange. Then we figured our minor son might be a problem and offered to sit outside with our drinks. My son of course was feeling upset and confused with this whole exchange because he had been really intrigued by the interior and to cheer him up I was taking him upstairs to check out the chandelier and come back down to our outside table. The waiter and bartender again came in our way and just refused to let us go for our 30 second trip upstairs. The bar was completely empty and it would have cost them nothing to let a child go upstairs and come down. Instead they chose to make us feel terribly uncomfortable and unwelcome. Would urge the Bengal Ambuja team to be more judicious in their choice of staff as the interiors and facilities may be beyond fabulous but the staff who run it create the impressions and mine, very unfortunately and unnecessarily turned out to be an absolutely awful one. The complete lack of prudent judgement, basic decency and sophistication in the bar staff just ruined the entire experience which could've been a top notch one given how hard the staff at the East Indian Room had worked to provide us a great experience. Needless to say we left the place without ordering our drinks.

I wish I could award NO stars to this place. It definitely deserves a zero. We went to the weekend barbecue buffet, which is supposed to have grilled food, a cheese station, main course and desserts. First of all , table booking was such a mental torture. They had some event going on so only Friday was available, and then they told me they’d confirm but they didn’t. So I had to call them up again to ask. When we did go finally, the ambience of the place was really nice , a wintry evening with beautiful lights and warm food , one would expect to have a good time here. But that soon got degenerated because of the amount of mosquitos present. In all the open air/outdoor seating places I’ve been to, I’ve never had to deal with mosquitos or insects or anything. Coming to the food, it was DRY. I don’t think the chefs even know how to grill the food because it was absolutely dehydrated. Now imagine chewing on dry chicken, with little or no marinade. The pizza was still okay. We ordered cocktails which were good , but with no value for money. The main course was simply abysmal. Everything needed seasoning or some more ingredients or simply, better chefs to cook them. Coming to the highlight of my entire experience there , the desserts. There was a particular dessert, the mud pie , which was appealing. I took a generous amount and when I took the first bite , I tasted something weird, it didn’t taste like chocolate. But it was a familiar smell I guess ? Then I felt a crunch. And that confirmed it. I had eaten an INSECT which had probably fallen into the mud pie because of how poorly the staff managed insects in the place. The staff was also sometimes present , sometimes not. We complained too and they decided to do nothing. Very insincere. I was really excited to try this place out because of some bloggers’ posts that I saw. I guess these people cater only to bloggers because the experience I had, I do not wish that upon anybody else. Absolutely disappointing.

I don’t know where to begin, absolutely horrible food & ridiculous service. The restaurant manager doesn’t know anything about hospitality! We ordered vegetarian food, and the bill listed non-vegetarian items (basically, the guy was trying to pocket some money and billed us for things that some other customer had paid in cash for). The food was 🤮 very, very salty and tasteless. I am never revisiting this place. It definitely has a lovely ambience, but the abysmal food quality and taste ruin that. You need a new chef & professional serving staff. Oh, and another thing, being part of a 5-star hotel, one would expect that the staff would wear masks but alas! …….

Probably the worst buffet spread in town. If you consider the exorbitant price then it is definitely the worst buffet in town. The grill items were very poor and mediocre in taste and the main course is even worse. They have a dish called Sufiana mutton biriyani and it's the worst biriyani ever. The mutton was dry and the biriyani lacked any kind of flavour. The food was so disappointing that I skipped dessert and wanted to get away from that place. To put the cherry on top, the place is infested with mosquitoes. An open air seating arrangement with mosquitoes with 5-star prices of items. Avoid this place like the plague.
