My friend and I ordered 4 different cocktails and food. All the cocktails tasted great, but teeny tiny amounts. We ordered 6 starters and 2 desserts. The food was generally very tasty and the staff polite and knowledgeable. But what's a major deal breaker is how crazy loud they play the music and everyone is shouting at the top of their voices to be heard above the music and noise. The second major deal breaker is how close the tables are to each other. You can't sit for a few moments in peace without wait staff elbowing you inadvertently at the back of your head trying to serve food and drinks to the tables around you. The food and drinks are undoubtedly good, but it's NOT a relaxed dining experience. I was tempted to walk out mid-meal because the whole thing got too much for me.

We booked this place looking forward to a great dinner, especially since it always seems to be fully booked unless reserved well in advance. Unfortunately, our experience turned out to be quite underwhelming. Despite booking ahead, the seating arrangement offered to us was extremely uncomfortable. The table was placed at such an awkward junction that we could barely fit ourselves on the chairs, while waiters constantly passed by carrying huge trays of leftover food and glasses from other tables. We literally had to lean sideways on the collapsible every few minutes just to make way for them, which made the entire dining experience very unpleasant. To make matters worse the AC above us was leaking and water droplets were dripping onto my husbands legs and he had to keep adjusting his chair to avoid the same. A sensible restaurateur would never place a table in such a cramped passage. Coming to the food, I would say it was average at best. Having travelled outside India and tried several Japanese restaurants in the city, I found Yokocho’s food just fine — nothing exceptional. The starters were flavourful and the ramen was decent, although the noodle quality could definitely be improved. Given all the Instagram hype surrounding this place, I genuinely expected something spectacular, but it failed to meet my expectations. The meat portions in the mains were disappointingly small. Also, the dan dan noodles recommended by the waiter were honestly quite bad — we could barely finish half and didn’t even bother packing the rest. I really wanted this place to be great, but overall, I left disappointed.

average food that takes tons of time to come to the table. no information from server,. got a average stack of korean overcooked and rubber bacon . they seem to be getting their act in order. the vibe is great but lot more expected from the chef team that backs this. shows lack of soul

We had a PAID reservation for 6 people at 10:00 PM, yet we were made to wait until 10:40 PM to be seated. This is not just poor management—it is highly unacceptable and unethical. When a customer pays in advance for a reservation, the very least expected is basic respect for their time. Delays can happen, but a 40-minute wait with no accountability or proper communication reflects a serious lack of professionalism. If you cannot honor confirmed reservations, you should not be taking advance payments. I request others to please think twice before making any paid reservation here. This experience has completely ruined our impression. Strongly advise the management to fix this system immediately.

I don’t usually leave reviews. Have had some really bad experiences and still said ok maybe they had an off day. But Yokocho forces me to review in the hope to save the public from a terrible experience. Literally everything is terrible. Was made to wait over 30 minutes for a table despite having a reservation. That too they had charged cover. The hostesses at the entrance were terrible. They lacked basic competence. The food was terrible. I have a stomach infection which I’m sure came from the undercooked Bagda Chingri and their inedible sushi roll. All in all the only word that sums it up is terrible.

Had a reservation for 9PM. Got the table at 9:40 PM. This is after we paid an advance to block the table. When we reached we were told 10-12 minutes. And after that kept being told 5 minutes more. The hostesses were absolutely pathetic (one was named Megha). We even mentioned that we were there to celebrate a birthday. They didn’t even have the basic courtesy to say happy birthday. A waitress came and told us 2 minutes they are cleaning the table. 10 minutes later the hostess said waiting for the previous patrons to clear the bill. Lies after lies. Sorry cannot look past the start to the evening.

We went to Yokocho for my husband’s birthday. We had to wait 40 minutes after having a reservation and paying cover charge. After they did seat us the food and drinks were a nightmare. Below average drinks, uncooked prawns, stinky inedible sushi. The hostess at the entrance was uncouth. Ultimately we walked out of restaurant to have main course elsewhere. Regret to choose it for a special occasion. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
