We had a prior table booking made by calling the café well in advance. At the time of booking, the staff informed us that a 15% pre-booking discount would be applied, which they later honoured on the final bill. At the time of payment, we requested to pay by card, but were informed that the card machine was not working. We then asked the staff member handling the bill whether we could pay via Zomato, and this was explicitly confirmed twice before we proceeded. When we paid through Zomato, a standard 10% platform discount was automatically applied by the app. After the payment was completed, the staff accused us of intentionally availing two discounts, despite the fact that the Zomato payment method was approved by them in advance and the platform discount was not manually applied by us. We were then asked to pay back both the Zomato discount and the pre-booking discount, even though neither situation arose due to any misrepresentation from our side. This led to an unnecessary verbal argument, after which we left. We have visited this place multiple times over the years. The food is average, drinks are below par, and this experience was disappointing primarily due to poor handling of payment and customer communication. Would not recommend based on this experience.
