We were staying close to this cafe so decided to explore for dinner. Being a weekday it was quite there with few guests. The ambiance was great and music was perfect for a lovely evening. We requested for any pint beer but they were having only Carlsberg in big size. So had to drop it. The food was disappointing. The pasta was tasting like punjabi gravy and no where close to what you expect at such cafes. Pizza base was good and probably baked in wooden oven but the sauce was blend. Could have done better. Service was quick and staff courteous enough. We didn’t went to this place again during our 5 days stay.

"Disappointed" doesn't even begin to cover it. Our visit was seriously unpleasant and rude! We, a family of four, went in heavy rain on April 3rd, 2026. The whole miserable experience started with the staff not even knowing if tables were available. They sent us to the lower ground, which was packed, and then finally gave us a table against a pillar – the worst one on the floor! The torture continued when no one came to take our order for ages. Once we finally ordered, nothing came for 20 minutes, and when they did serve us, two vegetarian snacks arrived with 20-minute gaps between them. The rest of our order? Never showed up! We kept asking the server, but got no reply. I had to go talk to the manager myself, who also had no clue what was going on. He finally told us they were out of the items in the kitchen, so we hadn't been served and wouldn't be, after a 30-minute wait! When I asked why we weren't told, he just shrugged and said they were having a busy night ! It seems that tourists come and go, and the establishment is often full of one-time visitors, so the team isn't bothered by bad experiences. The owners might not be paying attention as they're likely meeting their revenue goals. But not for long. Our family will make sure to tell our family and friends to never visit this restaurant in Manali. If only this would make a difference to them. 😤 #Tourists #Visitors #Experiences #Owners #Revenue #Family #Friends #Restaurant #Manali

Extremely Disappointed with the Experience at Café 1947, Manali I had high expectations from Café 1947 considering its name and popularity, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of disappointing. We waited 30 minutes just to get the menu, and another 45+ minutes after placing our order, with no communication or updates from the staff. When we politely raised a concern, we received a cold one-word response: “sorry”, with a blank expression that made us feel like we were inconveniencing them rather than being valued customers. It genuinely felt like we were begging for basic service, which was the worst part. What’s even more disheartening is that the staff seemed highly attentive to tables with high bills, completely ignoring the rest. This kind of selective service is unprofessional and unacceptable, especially for a café that claims to be premium. Café 1947 might have the ambiance and reputation, but they urgently need to rethink their approach to customer service. A name or location alone won’t bring people back—respect and basic hospitality will.

Ah, Cafe 1947 — proof that a good location can carry everything, including bland pasta and warm “cold” coffee. We decided to try their signature pasta, because you’d think anything labeled signature would be impressive, right? Wrong. It was a masterclass in how to make a dish taste like absolutely nothing. The béchamel sauce was more flour than flavor, and cheesy? Not even close. But hey, at least it was consistent — consistently bad. Then came the garlic bread, which was actually a stale baguette slice with a polite dab of pesto — perhaps an artistic interpretation of disappointment. The pizza? Well, the sauce had all the flavor of... boiled tomatoes. Unseasoned, uninspired, unforgettable — but for the wrong reasons. And the cold coffee? A warm, comforting cup of confusion. Quite literally room temperature. We had to ask for ice to remind it of its purpose in life. In short, come for the view. Stay for the regret.

Visited this place recently and was thoroughly disappointed. We ordered their hot chocolate, which turned out to be bland and completely tasteless. When we asked if we could cancel it, the staff flatly refused, saying, “That’s how our hot chocolate tastes.” No apology, no effort to make it right. We also tried the Thai curry, which had a weird, off-putting taste and smell. It came with oversized chunks of vegetables and some sticky rice that didn’t help the experience either. The food overall was far from enjoyable. The only thing decent about this place is the aesthetic – and that’s clearly what they’re banking on. The food is overly priced, average at best, and the hospitality was close to non-existent. If I could give negative stars for the overall experience, I would. Definitely not coming back.

The staff was rude and unprofessional, and they did not take customer feedback positively. I ordered a white sauce pasta, but it was bland and lacked flavor. When I raised this concern, I was told that this is how pasta is made and was asked if I wanted it spicy. White sauce pasta isn’t meant to be spicy—it should be rich, creamy, and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, the dish did not meet expectations, and the response from the staff was disappointing. This happens to a restaurant which gets famous too quickly!

Worst food, like literally i paid 650 for their special pasta which was so shitty, that a road side vendor can prepare better tasting pasta than the cafe. The best thing a cafe should have atleast is good coffee and these folks fail here as well, worst cappachino i had in my life while paying 250, hot chocolate was like an inexperienced cooking.

Not worth the hype, service is too slow and food is at most average in taste. They made us wait for more than an hour for a dish and later said that it's out of stock. Complete mismanagement in service. Not recommended!!!
