Pretty good food. Been here a couple of times. Would recommend the pan fried lamb - one of best lamb dishes I have tasted in Manipal. Crispy honey chilli potatoes is an excellent starter for vegetarians. Triple noodle (manchurian) was recommended by the server and it tasted pretty good. The California maki sushi is lacking in finesse but the flavour is right. I normally avoid anything that is fried for dessert, but the Fried coconut roll dessert was surprisingly good. Have tried a couple of mocktails - they were a bit too sweet for me but weren't bad. The only problem I found with the restaurant is the service. The service is very slow and food takes a long time to come. When you enter, there is no one to greet you and take you to a table though there are many servers around. Many of the servers tended to stick behind the counter and not come out of there at all.

Found a great place to hang out with friends or have a quiet dinner with family. The ambience and the view from the top is awesome. It was a perfect rainy evening so mom ordered masala chai, mix pakoda and cheese garlic bread and it was very good. Mix veg dumplings and Crispy honey chilli chicken - must try. Veg Thai sizzler was ok. Sizzling brownie was not that great. Music was boring as they played the same songs over and over again. I even asked them to change the music but the stewardess said they couldn't for some reason (didn't quite understand but I chose to ignore as she was polite). Overall a good dining experience.

Let us start with the good. The oriental restaurant at the 6th floor has great ambience, ample space and polite and professional waiters. However, the veg choice of food is mediocre. Moreover, the use of far eastern spices in food is indiscriminatory and injudicious. It won't take long to realise that the chef is not much experienced in preparing oriental cuisine if one has tasted the authentic one before. It just tastes different from the standard Indian food, but unfortunately is pretty different from the oriental stuff as well. A classic example is thai green curry which left me in blues. It was sweet as a dessert, and had two codominant flavours- khafir lime leaves and sugar! If you are expecting the spicy mildly hot ghalagal and lemongrass flavours, with a tinge of garlic and an undertone of celantro, you will be sweetly (and nastily) surprised by the sugar! I wish they mentioned it in their menu if one has to expect a sweet dish. However, the food has richness and is well presented to it. Also the chef as well as the manager will meet you and take your feedback and offer apologies. Indeed if the food wasn't sweet enough you will surely be overwelhmed by their sweet words, and they gave us 15% discount ( or compensation?) too. We were worried if the delay in getting the bill will close the door on our plans to find a better place to satiate our trampled appetite, but we did manage to help ourselves elsewhere after the ordeal. Overall it was an unforgettable unpleasant experience. But i am sure people with a different taste and those who can stomach the discord of spices may enjoy it better. Good luck!

First and foremost, it was our mistake that we went with high hopes to find something interesting in this restuarant, turns out it is strictly okay. The portion sizes aren't great either, and half the things in desserts weren't available. Lastly, the concierge on the ground floor had a weird attitude when we asked him how we could order some desserts on display placed there. The place is only suited if you wish to have drinks on a rooftop by the pool (which by the way has only 3 tables). All and all, an absolute no go moving further. The pricey food is just for the ambience, the taste and the quality of the food is similar to any roadside restaurant.
