There are many iconic restaurants in Udupi, most of which you will find in the food reccomendation videos by influencers. So after visiting all the amazing fish restaurants and getting our fill of the local cuisine, we were looking for a place with a chill vibe which offered a different flavour for us. Fisherman’s bay on Malpe beach was just the right fit. We happened to stumble upon it during our visit to the Malpe beach and decided to try it out for dinner though we hadn’t found this place in our research. It has a full view of the ocean and is beautifully decorated with warm lights perfect for a beach side shack. The food also did not disappoint. The butter garlic prawns and squid chill garlic were exquisite and our main course of fried rice was also delicious. I would recommend to stick to fish options instead of chicken though, since the chicken lollipop we tried was just satisfactory. They don’t have a very extensive menu but that’s fine since it has all the options that you would want chilling at a shack on the beach. The staff was cordial and the music was just right for the mood. All in all, I would say it is totally worth visiting. I hope they get more reviews so more people can know about this place.

Beautiful beach side restaurant, just at the entrance of malpe beach. Its a wonderful location. Its facing the beach so I don't have tk elaborate on how the place would be feeling, you can imagine that on your own. The place is best to visit by evening when the sun goes down, the place is well lit with string lights and good soft music. And the sound of the soft air whistling past your ears will definitely take you to a another level. It's a perfect place to take some good photos, there are photo props which you can use as well. The main part, the food is good too. The menu is decent with lot of options for veg, fish and chicken. It's a nice place to have a relaxing evening and chilling by the beach.

The place definitely had a vibe! Even in the afternoon there was a pleasant breeze probably because of it being so close to the beach. Amazing Concept! Will recommend to anyone looking for a nice chill restaurant at a real good location with great service! The food was great! The serving size could have been more looking at the cost of the dishes. The minimum bill amount was 700 per person which you'll end up spending anyway. The entrance has a little walking but once you enter the place you'll love it! Overall a great idea to visit!

I'm a huge fan of South Indian food, but I have to be honest: it's not always easy to find a good place to eat. I've been to a lot of different restaurants in my time, and I can say with confidence that Fisherman's Bay Beach Cafe is one of the best. The food is delicious, and the service is top-notch. The manager was very friendly and welcoming—he made sure that we were taken care of throughout our meal. In fact, it was so good that we went back a second time! This time around, fish ghee roast and Neer Dosa it's something completely different from what I had ordered before, and it was just as delicious as the first time. If you're looking for an authentic South Indian experience, this is definitely the place for you! Try : Paplet Puli munchi and prawns ghee roast it's mind blowing

Beautiful location overlooking the ocean, serves amazing seafood, quite expensive though to the extent that lot of people come in, settle down and after seeing the menu quietly leave. Butter garlic prawns was delicious, quality of fish was fresh. Service gets very delayed due to amount of crowd they get. Staff is courteous and explain everything nicely. Except one brand of beer, they don’t serve any other alcoholic beverages.

We ordered chilli garlic prawns, dragon chicken and fries, not even one item was consumable. The staff was not co-operative and the manager was rude. If you are coming for food, I don’t recommend at all.
