MTR needs no introduction, it's a legendary restaurant in Bengaluru. So I was very excited to visit their outlet in Udupi. We visited MTR for dinner, as expected it's jam packed. We ordered rava idli, rava masala dosa, bisi bele bath and filter coffee. They serve small cup of ghee with every dish you order. I really loved that fluffy rava idli and that golden crispy rava masala dosa. Bisi bele bath was really amazing and filter coffee was perfect. Ambience of this place is amazing and service was quick. I read the story of invention of rava idli and the reason behind it, which is interesting. I am really looking forward to visit their original establishment in Bengaluru.

We have been to MtR in Bangalore and had breakfast options but never lunch . This was our chance to have lunch in udipi , and we had a great lunch special thali . I would recommend to go with empty stomach , as this meal is heavy . First was poori and sagu and then followed by mini masala dosa with chutney . After this round , we had hot bisebelle bath which was awesome and then had sambhar and rasam and finally finished with curd rice and not to forget the payasam and sweet which was awesome . A whole hearted meal worth the money …. Definitely should not miss this …

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED We were longing for authentic veg Kannada food in Udupi. Our search ended with EXCELLENT veg food at MTR. Class apart veg thali and dosa!!

Just a correction, its only open till 9.30 and attached is their latest menu. Good people, good food, clean and hygienic as well. Do visit.

I loved it when I went to Manipal. I went here thrice for breakfast. ........... Nice Ambiance Food is heavenly.. ..............

Honestly this is no where near to MTR Bangalore. Yes it's the same franchise but so many things can be improved. Ordered Rava Masala Dosa and coffee. Coffee was pretty decent but the potato bhaji in masala dosa was cold. Guess it was prepared early morning. Such a disappointment. Service is quick enough.

This is how the masala dosa looked... the taste was good every other time I went there... but this time the waiter was rude and was pathetic piece of shit... with shit load of attitude ... when I told them that the taste was horrible ... they said that’s how we cook....and then I got the bill... I went to the person sitting at the counter expecting him to address the issue... that person was more than dead... one horrendous experience made me never want to visit MTR again... all that you put on the walls try and implement it... when you charade a premium for food... and your waiters don’t have the courtesy or etiquette’s to talk to the customer.. the person behind the counter was terrible who was literally dead looked like he didn’t know how to speak at all..... hotel management skills I would say 0... taste that day -5 no human could eat that... learn something from Pai tiffins or woodlands!!! And when I even wrote this incident on their website... I was never confronted by them about the issue... I remember this incident even after 2-3 months imagine the experience I had...

Extremely overrated, pathetic restaurant. Idli was undercooked (could taste the batter in the middle of it) Vada was cold Puri was okay, but the aloo masala with it was bland Masala dosa was extremely oily, tasteless Ordered filter coffee, got normal coffee, which tasted like coffee flavoured milk Worst part was the service. Coffee served before we finished our meal, bill was brought before I started my coffee, and the waiter came back with QR code and stood at the table before I finished my coffee.

I think the waiters here think they are feeding you for free.Arrogant ,rude and service is always late.If you ask them anything they tell you to go somewhere else .Stopped going
