The best part about last night was to get a table (at the bar) without pre booking! I was sceptical to walk in as these days most of the places demand “reservations only”. Right from the welcome drink at the entrance desk until we left - the service was warm and super friendly, energetic! Special mention to D at the bar - he was super sweet to make me a mocktail coz I told him I am OFF alcohol but their cocktail menu is really tempting me hahahaha he made the best virgin picante everrrr! And kept us entertained until we left 🫶🏻 gonna visit again soon to try some more food that looked amazing on the menu!!!

Went to 8ish for post work drinks and absolutely loved the place. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. D is an excellent mixologist! Definitely coming back.

8ish seems to be a place still trying to figure out what it wants to be when it grows up. Located opposite a public toilet, the first impression is, quite literally, unfortunate. The walk from the car to the restaurant feels like a task, and the occasional whiff from across the road does little to build anticipation. On this particular Friday night, they had a bar takeover by a couple of Mexican bartenders, serving Mexican liquor shots that felt like a poor cousin of cachaça — if cachaça had been repurposed as rocket fuel. The servers were absolutely clueless about both the drinks and the food, and were nowhere close to being able to make any useful recommendations. The ambience was cacophonic at best, and the crowd felt like a bevy of influencers who had been paid to look interested. The food was the only saving grace, and the reason the place scores anything more than a single star. The buff tartare, sliders, and prawns pil pil were all excellent. From their regular cocktail menu, the two serious drinks — Nearly Misbehaved and Dangerously Unhinged — were, surprisingly, exceptionally well balanced. The trouble began with the experimental Mexican menu. The ceviche was absolutely flat, and the drinks were kiddy, sugary, and entirely forgettable. It takes a certain kind of courage to garnish a cocktail with a peda. But there is a very fine line between courage and stupidity, and this landed firmly on the wrong side of it. All in all, not a place worth visiting in its current form. Perhaps give them a few months, or even a year, to mature into something more coherent. Then, maybe, it may be worth another try.
