This was bu far the best experience at Arya Bhavan. The dosa was crisp and you feel the taste of pure good quality ghee. The idli varieires are awesome. Ask for the Brahmin idli. And maybe ask the waiter to make it . You ll never think pf idli as the same again. Have the ice cream very creamy and smooth. The cols cofee as always is good. And also the nimbu pudina drink for digestion and the filter coffee for the last south indian fix .

The South Indian food here is awesome. If you are looking for some authentic food it is a must visit place in Chembur. We tried pineapple shira(5 ⭐️), Mysore dosa 4.5⭐️, appe, vada sambhar, masala dosa, filter coffee. Overall rating 4.75/5

The food was ok not very great. As part of our order we had appam and coconut stew, which did not taste authentic. It was just the dosa batter made in appam shape and the coconut milk was salty. They claim the dish to be one of their specials but it was highly disappointing.

The person on the entrance was very rude and he spoilt our mood to eat at Arya Bhavan, I would prefer to visit Arya Bhavan at Matunga only. We will never come back to Chembur.

⚠️ Disgusting and unhygienic – fungus and cockroaches inside the restaurant! ⚠️ Absolutely appalled by my recent experience at Arya Bhavan, Chembur I have been visiting Arya Bhavan, Matunga for more than 10 years, and it has always been a trusted name for my family. That is why what we faced at the Chembur branch was shocking, disappointing, and downright unsafe. The very first thing we noticed on sitting was decorations and flower garlands completely covered with fungus. This was not a one-day slip — it was clear these hadn’t been changed or cleaned in days. For a place that serves food, this is simply inexcusable. As we waited for our order to arrive, the situation only got worse. We saw cockroaches crawling openly on the dining tables and wooden frames. One came right next to our plates while we were seated. This is the kind of sight that makes you lose trust immediately — if pests are visible in the dining area, what must the kitchen and storage look like? When we brought it to the management’s attention, instead of showing concern, the so-called manager rudely admitted to the fungus issue and initially denied the cockroaches until a waiter himself confirmed it. What was most disturbing was the attitude — no apology, no accountability, just arrogance. To top it all, they demanded full payment even though our food was left untouched after witnessing this level of unhygiene. This is not just about one bad evening — this is a serious public health risk. Food poisoning, contamination, and allergies are real dangers in such an environment. And the fact that they operate under the well-respected Arya Bhavan name makes it even worse, because loyal customers like us expect much higher standards. I have already shared a reel of this experience to raise awareness, and the responses from others show this is not an isolated case. Several people have faced the same issues here. ⚠ My warning: Please do not risk your health at this outlet. Unless the management is held accountable and strict hygiene checks are done, this branch should not be considered safe for dining.👉 I sincerely hope the Food and Drugs Department or higher authorities take strict action against this establishment before it causes serious harm to unsuspecting customers.

This was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Mumbai. The food was utterly mediocre—greasy, tasteless, and definitely not worth the money they charge. But what really pushed it over the edge was the attitude of the owner. Rude, arrogant, and completely dismissive of customer feedback. It’s shocking how someone in the hospitality industry can behave with such entitlement and zero professionalism. It felt less like a restaurant and more like an ego trip for someone who clearly doesn’t care about quality or customer satisfaction. I walked out frustrated and insulted. Plenty of other places in Chembur serve better South Indian food and treat you like a human being. Avoid Arya Bhavan unless you enjoy wasting money and being disrespected.

Cockroach and Fungus filled restaurant. We went to have south Indian food and in turn found fungus and cobwebs all around the restaurant once we say waiting for food, we also encountered Cockroach, that turned into cockroaches a little while later. Upon confronting the management we were only abused and harrassed by the so called owner. We had to leave the food looking at this pathetic scenario. Instead of being sorry about the whole thing he harassed us more and wanted us to pay bill for food we didn't eat and worst customer experience with worst hygiene. We have regulars at Arya bhavan Matunga but chembur is highly not recommended unless you want to eat cockroach. Weeks ago, I visited this restaurant and was horrified to find a COCKROACH at the bottom of my sambar bowl. I was shocked and immediately informed the waiter, but he grabbed the plate and rushed off before I could even take a picture. What surprised me the most was their nonchalant attitude when I complained. The staff casually said, "It must have fallen from above," as if this is a normal occurrence. Clearly, there is no quality control in this place. After looking online, I came across similar reviews from months ago, which proves this is a recurring problem that hasn't been addressed. The restaurant's lack of hygiene and their dismissive attitude towards such a serious issue is extremely disappointing. I would NOT recommend eating here.

There is something terribly wrong with the food of this place. For two times, I have got diarrhea next day. Last time, I took Medu Vada and Onion Uttapam, and fell sick next day but still I thought to give another shot which seems a stupid idea now. Yesternight, I just took Upma and Onion Rava Dosa and my stomach is badly affected. If you think that it might be due to something else then it is ruled out because I just ate fresh home made cook in day. I request everyone to be aware of this place. There are similar reviews on Google too. These guys should have inspection sometime soon and stop fooling customers by their pathetic mass service. Arya Bhavan, please keep your food quality at minimum expected if you are taking high prices.

we had placed an order worth almost 1000 rupees, but we did not receive the chutney with our order, so we called the restaurant and told them that, the person on the other end was stubborn about not accepting his mistake, adamently saying I have packed it and you are lying, and if you still want it comes and collect it from the restaurant. I wonder what would be our agenda behind lying about receiving the chutney. the restaurant wasn't very far they could have easily sent someone. and if we wanted to go and get it then why would we order a parcel in the 1st place. this is horrible customer service. 1 star is for the chef that cooks delicious food.
