Bademiya is one of those places that survives largely on its legacy and prime location rather than its present-day experience. Tucked just behind the Taj and hardly 100 meters from the Gateway of India, it naturally becomes a hotspot for tourists and late-night food hunters. What once started as a humble snack joint has now expanded into multiple shops lining the streets of Colaba, proudly carrying forward the brand name and its historical recall. Unfortunately, nostalgia alone doesn’t translate into a good meal anymore. I visited Bademiya purely for its legacy, but the experience was quite disappointing. The taste was nothing extraordinary, the service was painfully slow, and considering the portion sizes, the pricing felt unreasonably high. I ordered Chicken Malai Tikka, which was a real shocker — not soft at all, completely dry, and far from what you’d expect from a dish that’s supposed to be rich and creamy. The mushrooms were over-grilled, some nearly burnt, leaving behind an unpleasant and awful taste. After that, I honestly didn’t have the courage to order anything else. Overall, for a place that enjoys such legendary status, the quality, taste, and service no longer justify the hype. A pretty underwhelming experience for me.

I had a very disappointing experience at Bademiya in Colaba. If you’re planning to visit on a weekend, be prepared—they don’t seem to serve what you actually want, only what’s conveniently available to them. During our visit, we couldn’t get a single mutton item, which was one of the main reasons we went there. Even a basic request like a Diet Coke was denied, with the waiter bluntly saying “nahi milega” and “nahi arrange hoga.” The service felt dismissive and unhelpful. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last. Overall, a very poor experience and not worth the hype.

"Naam bade aur darshan chhote" Even a first timer would know that a biryani has rich flavour of shahi masalas like jaiphal, javitri etc which was totally absent in their biryani. Even a road side vendor can cook better biryani than them. Very dissatisfied disappointed and below average taste. They really need to work upon their dishes, which is probably gonna take lots of years. Learn from the famous Behrouz, Biryani By Kilo, Arsalan and other biryani joints.

This place has lost its charm, paid for a late night dinner twice as one transaction failed at their end but was debited from my account. No courtesy of owners who has still not refunded my amount it's one month. I am disappointed by this things have called Ovais many times but he has no time to check this.

Quick Gist of my first visit with family, ‘Naam Bade Aur Darshan Chote’ The server yawning which taking the order - name Mukesh. Paneer in Cashew gravy was grey in color. The server more focused on firangi than Indian family of 7 First visit and certainly, the last.

Never wrote any review. But writing this because genuinely the taste is soo bad. Soya tikka and veg dum biryani both are tasteless and the chutney which are served is not even fresh. One of the most overrated and the worst food ever had in my life.
