Balwas restaurant is closed to Wankhede stadium & Fashion Street, -Churchgate. They serve Indian and Chinese cuisine. Seating arrangements along with interiors of the restaurant are very comfortable and beautiful. They have a separate large Banquet and Conference Hall attached to the restaurant. This is being used to cater heavy rush or is being rented out for parties. We ordered: Virgin pinacolada: It had pineapple juice with fresh vanilla ice-cream and topped pineapple. It was creamy and refreshing. Presentation was brilliant. Fresh pineapple juice: It was a pure pineapple juice with cut fruit topping. Tandoori Pomfret: Fresh jumbo size pomfret was marinated in yogurt and spices. It was cooked to perfection in tandoor. It was served with green chutney and mayonnaise. It was scrumptious and we enjoyed it the most. Mutton Seekh kabab: Tender mutton was finely minced and marinated with spices and cream. It was roasted to perfection to safeguard its juices. Mutton Bhuna with cheese garlic naan : Boneless mutton chunks were cooked with mint and spices in red thick onion and tomato based gravy. It was delicious. Bheja masala: Brain was cooked with herbs and spices in thick red gravy. A must try dish for all the organ lovers. King Prawns Masala: Fresh jumbo sized prawns were cooked with spices to form a thin red gravy. It tasted yummy. Rasmalai: The rasmalai was creamy and milky. It was light, spongy, spiced with cardamom and aromatic saffron. It was irresistible and we were unable to stop at just one. Pot Kulfi: Kulfi was served with with rabri. It was solid, dense with lots of nuts, saffron and condense milk. It was yummy. It was my favourite dessert. Mr. Saeed welcomed and greeted us professionally. Mr. Ejaz served us extremely well and suggested us the best dishes of the restaurant. He helped us to select the best by explaining us the dishes in details ensuring to suit our taste buds. The staff was polite, well mannered, well behaved and safety conscious. Their kitchen was neat and clean to match the international standards. It's a must visit place for delicious, authentic Mughlai and Chinese food.

we went for lunch believing Balwas shall deliver terrific food, but to utter disappoint it was not so. chicken seekh was so so , it lacked flavour. chicken Tikka biryani was again below average. had several others at different places this was at the least. at least for me service was also slow probably because it was damn busy and we had gone there just past 2pm. The server asked as to why we left the food and I told him didn't like. We came out with unsatisfied.

3/5....Okay now let me tell you why Food 3.5/5 Service 2/5 Ambience 3.5/5 The staff serving food is co operative but they do not know how to drop plates on the table so they need to work on that. over-all experience was 3/5 don't go with a lot of expectations as some days here can be good / decent but somedays can be average.

Walked in for a quick lunch in d middle of a meet. Ordered mutton dum biryani. Must say it was not at all good in taste. Very below average for a biryani especially from such a restaurant placed at such a high value location. Disappointed!! Tasted not even like a pulav.

No salt in any gravy is the new norm in BALWAS, Marine lines Yesterday with 11 more person I had a party in Balwas. It was a dinner get-together. The starters and soup were O.K. But in the main course, I had ordered Muttun Do Pyaza. It had no salt in it. I called the captain and informed him about it. He said that in Balwas they do not put salt in any gravy preparation. He was lying which was clear. He did not want to give us a second chance for ordering something else. I told him that it was not the first time I was coming to their joint and no salt was a news to me. But he was defending the indefensible. His stubborn attitude oozed from all sides. This way he was talking nonsense. Or may be I am wrong. Is it a new norm that the restaurants serve salt free gravy. The gravy train has got new dimensions. Beware customers when you visit BALWAS.
