All the hype around Benne Dosa, and I just had to visit—and I’m so glad I did! What truly bamboozed me away was their service. Easily one of the best I’ve experienced anywhere. Benne – Juhu is set in a beautifully transformed old heritage bungalow. While it’s been modernized, the soulful old-world vibes are still very much alive. There’s usually a long queue, but we got lucky and didn’t have to wait. As soon as you enter, there’s a digital kiosk(help pops up instantly-excellent customer care). You place your order, pay, and then simply wait for your order number to flash on the screen. The entire waiting experience is seamless and impressive. The moment your token number is called, you rush to collect your food—pure excitement! What we ordered: Ghee Podi Benne Dosa As a food blogger who’s eaten countless benne dosas, this one goes straight to the top of my list. An ultimate experience. Perfectly crisp, topped with a dollop of white butter, and paired with chutneys so flavorful it felt like tasting them for the first time. Garlic Roast A must-try for garlic lovers. A classic benne dosa with an irresistible X-factor—absolutely mind-blowing. Mangalore Buns Soft, fluffy, airy, and delicious. Light sweetness paired with coconut chutney created a beautiful flavor burst. Hot Horlicks Pure nostalgia in a cup. Not very sweet - perfectly warm Filter Coffee Served with a rich, caffeinated frothy dome—one is never enough. Thatte Idli Too good to put into words. Ghee Podi Idli Lip-smacking and indulgent. Indu Ice Cream Great textures, yummy icecream. Drinking water and hand tissues were easily available, and the washrooms were super clean. The vibes at Benne are so magnetic that you just want to keep ordering—and never leave.

Worth the Hype! I love south Indian food along with lot of Sambar. But, this experience just broke that myth. Absolutely loved their Benne Dosa and Chutneys were damn good. Also, tried the Garlic roast benne dosa. Ended the meal with a must have Filter Coffee.

Amazing dosas and I loved the ambience. They are all very open to feedback and ensure that expectations are always met. Go-to dosa joint, would recommend!!

I just loved the ambience. My plain dosa was just too yummy, fresh and crispy. The 2 chutney were fresh and tasty. Looking forward to visiting again.

Had a disappointing experience at Bene, Juhu. They mention that there is a free walk-in for senior citizens (no queue), which sounds good in theory. However, in reality, they expect you to drop the senior inside and then have the accompanying person stand in a long queue outside. This is extremely inconvenient and insensitive. How do you expect elderly parents to manage on their own without support? The same applies to families with toddlers—are we supposed to leave them inside and wait outside? The policy may exist, but the way it’s implemented is poorly thought out and impractical. It felt more like a rigid system than a hospitality experience. Overall, not a comfortable experience. Management needs to rethink how they handle families and senior citizens. BENE JUHU ONLY FOR THE FIT AND YOUNG

We have tried visiting Benne Dosa, Juhu three times, and unfortunately, we were never able to get a place to sit. Today was the last attempt. We reached around 4:00 PM, only to see a notice at the entrance saying the restaurant would reopen at 5:00 PM due to cleaning. Customers were asked to wait outside in a long queue. I honestly don’t feel this is a genuine or professional reason to make customers wait for such a long time. It felt more like an attempt to create artificial hype — people see a long queue and assume the place must be exceptional. However, long waiting times due to poor seating arrangements or lack of sufficient staff should not be glorified as popularity. The service management is disappointing. Either there isn’t enough seating capacity or not enough staff to handle the crowd. Good food alone isn’t enough if the overall customer experience is poor. Very disappointing experience.

I stood in line for 50 whole minutes, I was one person , next in queue and I requested them to allow me as I would miss my train if I did not get in and she denied on my face stating that I will have to wait for some time as it would be unfair to other customers waiting. I was not demanding skipping the queue, I was only requesting entry for a single person after waiting the whole time and I was denied disregarding that I waited for 50 minutes even after being bitten by mosquitoes because they don’t care how you are when you stand outside and had to rush only because I had a train and had to leave in half hour. One of the most disrespecting and annoying lady I have ever spoken to and the shittiest experience I have ever had. You should not serve food and strangle your customers just because the place has become viral. Learn to respect your customer
