Café Paris at Colaba is s regular restaurant serving Mughlai and Chinese food at very affordable prices and the portions are quite good too. We ordered the paneer bhurji which was very well made and almost similar to egg bhurji. The dabba gosht (mutton) was very well made and had quite a lot of mutton pieces in it. Not oily at all unlike most other places I've had this dish. The butter paratha and chapattis were quite thick but nice in taste. The caramel corn was a bit off the mark in taste though it was nice and soft in texture. The sweet lassi was okay too. Had a black tea which was quite good too. Total bill Rs400/-. Ambience may not be very good as it is a cheap place but the food is good in taste and portion sizes are good too. Definitely worth home delivery or takeaway if you don't want to sit and eat there.

Their desi chinese was excellent. I ordered the crispy schezwan chicken with chicken fried rice & it was excellent! Served piping hot & very reasonably priced. This is the kind of greasy goodness that suits a night of gaming or watching a sport on TV! Yes, it won’t do any wonders for your diet but hey, that’s not the point! 😄 The service is swift as well.

Back in 2005, I was in Colaba for some work and was extremely hungry in the afternoon. Walked in to Cafe Paris and had some Mutton fry. Still remembered the taste. For nostalgia went to this restaurant after almost 19years and the taste was still pretty much the same! Pocket friendly place. Their Chinese seems to be a hit…although I haven’t tried it!

I have no idea why it's called Cafe Paris. It's run by some Mohammedan uncles and it looks vaguely Iranian. There's nothing french on the menu and their coffee is terrible. BUT. Read on. Seeing as I live in the lane right next to Cafe Paris, I order from there pretty regularly. The food's quite good for a place this tiny. Order the chicken tikka biriyani, which is almost entirely succulent, charred huge pieces of tikka and a little rice and thick red masala. It's also pretty good for breakfast- decent kheema pao, fat omlettes and burji. The chinese here is vintage cheap-chinese. It's oily, it's overfried, it's got way too much ajinomoto and it tastes sinfully good. Try the caramel custard as well, it's actually better than the more famous one at Olympia down the road. P.S.: Be polite to the waiters. Some of them look dangerous. The owner is a sweet guy.

Right under my building. If you need a filing meal right away you can always depend on these guys, not the fancy restaurants but surely dependable. One of the oldest restaurants out here and I trully trust them with their quality.
