Most South Indian restaurants have stopped serving Thali and we were craving for a thali dinner. So we tried Cafe Udipi. Ordered a South Indian thali and the thali turned out as expected. A decent variety of dishes and tasteful too. Service was nice though the ambience is basic. Overall a very satisfying meal

Love this place for the fast food, and for their low key ambience and quick serving of food. Love their thali, their Palak Aloo and idli, dosa.

Located close to Chembur station in its central market and on main road this is a typical udipi establishment to eat South India food n have coffee. It is spacious n Clean. Staff is courteous. We did not have to wait for the table. Service was quick. Safety measures for pandemic are In place evident from sitting arrangements. We ordered south Indian Thali for dinner. It was Karnataka style food with Rasam, sambhar, Dal with grated coconut and two sabjis one was green other was green peas. Puris were Perfect and hot. Fresh South Indian pickle n curd were served. Sherra was given as dessert. The food tastes Authentic except it could have been more warmer but taste wise no complains. Rice was perfect. It's a nice place to enjoy authentic udipi flood n chat with friends and family.

A small & quaint restaurant located in Chembur. It's interior was simple. This restaurant had an indoor and outdoor seating. Had ordered a Thali that consisted of various vegetable items, Puris, rice, pickle, curd etc. It tasted really delicious. The quantity was good. The service was good. The ambience was good. The prices were reasonable. Overall, a good place for tasty South Indian food.

The owner of cafe Udipi is very cunning because he instruct his waiter not to serve normal drinking water ( IF ANY WAITER SERVES THE WATER ON HUMANITY GROUND SEEING THE CUSTOMERS DRESS CODE THEN THE ENTIRE STAFF IS POINTING AND WILL START HARRESMENT WITH THAT NEWLY JOINED WAITER NO MATTER WHAT EXPERIENCE HE IS CARRYING AND HE WILL BE TORTURE BY GIVING LATE ORDERS AND THE CUTLERY WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE TRAY WHERE IT IS GENERALLY KEPT IN ORDER TO BE GIVEN TO THE CUSTOMERS AT THE TIME OF SERVICE AND HE WILL BE TORTURE BY ADDING A BOTTLE OF WATER OR IF THE CUSTOMER HAS GIVEN ANY DISH ORDER IT IS SERVED WITHOUT THAT WAITERS KNOWLEDGE AND IF THAT WAITER NOTICED THEN THE SOME OTHER EXCUSE IS GIVEN SAYING THAT IT IS ON THE TO THE CUSTOMER AND NOT )to customer as owner he is into only and only money making terms for example if anyone drinks a filter coffee which he is been selling with pride at 30 RS which is not instantly made it's just a coffee decoction which is cheaper + he has instructed in the kitchen in the same oil the whole day's all the frying items should be fried no matter if the oil become crude black no separate oil container / kadai / fryer which is for everyone for fasting (U-PASS) people and normal people + no CCTV camera active in the kitchen it's for staff to get scared that the Boss is watching and if it's there than check 2 days footage clip you'll will come to know his hypocrisy but he is very smart he will play the blame game + he doesn't give his staff salary before 20 of the next month which means the staff who has already completed his month (30 days) on 15 of June he will give that poor staff June month salary on 10th of July + he keeps those staff who is inexperienced staff so he can humiliate them in long duty HRS and load of work in the 70 seater operational restaurant only 4 waiter are working from morning 7:50am to 22:30 PM with swiggy and Zomato parcel to be done ready/ packages by the same waiter and he will not give any of his employee any benefit like PF OR ESIC NO matter that employee has spent 30yrs in the same cafe Udipi restaurant and no salary statement except a normal register like daily wage system and if anyone living the job within a month joining keeping in mind that there is another person has come into his place as a replacement that poor person is not paid any amount of money inspite of reminding that 1 replacement person is already been approved by the Boss of cafe Udipi the poor waiter who worked nearly 13 days his salary is not been paid till today and he blocks that waiter cell number in his device not that the customer who eats idli and dosa in cafe Udipi the batter are not made fresh in the premises but it's been dumped in the morning by an vendor and the last is the pathetically the toilet is maintained with no inbuilt water tap, no gender separate toilet+ no flushing system and the staff roaming in the knickers and towels wrapped round their waist + they don't have a computer generated ticket for the waiter or for the customers to prove that at what time the order is placed if it's delayed from the kitchen only a diplomatic ally answer the customer or the waiter is telling lies also I have been asking the Boss to give my 13 days hardly earned efforts salary also the waiter carrying spoons in their bared hands with a stinking clothes even in the covid situation as the Boss has an attitude saying nobody can do anything to his cafe Udipi because he has got a political and cops link. SO IT'S UPTO THE FOODIES AND THE REVIEWERS TO HELP OUT WITH THIS SITUATION.

Ordered and, and I regret every bite. The Paneer 65 was an absolute disaster; stale, rubbery, and completely devoid of flavor. No crispiness, no spice, just dry, chewy chunks of disappointment. It felt like they fried it hours ago and reheated it before serving. The seasoning, if any, was barely there, making the whole dish a bland, oily mess. The Mushroom Manchurian was slightly better but still nothing to rave about—just an average dish with no standout flavors. To top it off, the delivery was slow, and the packaging was careless. For the price, this was a complete rip-off. Cafe Udipi seriously needs to up its game because this was just unacceptable. Never ordering again.

Went on July 8 Saturday evening for dinner as earlier experience of thali with friends was good. order was Shahi paneer one Naan one roti. Nan was served cold. waiter had no reply to this. he reheated and came back! roti was good. Paneer had frozen taste and didn't enjoy gravy was below average. had 3 grapes and pineapple. Idli vada parcel I took was also poor. not visiting again.

The hotel is truly misleading its guests. The worst part is that they say this after giving you the bill; nowhere in the hotel has it been mentioned that they don't accept cards. They claim they only accept cash and don't accept credit cards. This hotel still only accepts cash in the age of cashless digital payments.
