Gallop’s being an old timer in Mumbai was on top of my list to visit now just for nostalgia sake. Since it was the week of Novruz, they had Parsi delicacies on their menu as well. We went as a group of friends to try out some of their most popular dishes and here’s what we had; 1. Chicken Farcha: tender deep-fried pieces of Chicken with lacy egg coating- 5/5 2. Chicken Liver Pate- flavourful & smooth liver pate, served with a side of Pita bread and toppings of raisins, sweet chutney & egg– 5/5 3. Chicken Dori Kebab- mildly spiced chicken meat wrapped with thread around a surprise stuffing- 5/5 4. Mutton Galouti Kebab- it was delicious & melted as soon as it was in my mouth - 5/5 5. Pathar Kabab- mutton grilled on a granite stone, it was okayish- 3/5 6. Chicken a la Kiev- frankly I did not understand the hype around this dish, it was just a deep-fried chicken cutlet filled with potato mash and lots of butter & cheese which could have been skipped- 2/5 7. Andhra style Chicken Boti- an appetizer, nothing very spectacular- 3/5 8. Saag Burrata- A match made in heaven and it surprises me that this has never been done before. The flavour of the saag paired so amazingly well with the creaminess of the cheese- 5/5 9. Salli Chicken- Full points for this sweetish Parsi Mutton gravy preparation- 5/5 10. Khade Masale Ka Murgh- this was excellent too- 4/5 11. Sticky Toffee Pudding- I love sticky toffee & these guys do a great job with it- 5/5 12. Baked Alaska- very unique to dessert menus, this was brilliant and a must try here at Gallops- 5/5 Our visit here was an absolute treat. The quality of food, service and the ambience was absolutely top notch. It was a Sunday well spent, I will definitely come back!

This one has been on my forever list and though we didnt have a reservation, decided to swing by since we were in the area. Luckily they accomodated us (though the reception staff wasn't the most polished). The ambience is perfect logcabin colonial era vibes. They couldnt seat us outside as it was reserved but that's the place to be. service was quite nice with gloved butlers. food and drinks amazing. impressive to see such an old restaurant still keep things up. staff shows amazing ownership. definitely going back!

Gallops was on my bucketlist for a long time, and I wasn't sure if the food would live up to the hype. But it did, and how! We ordered their mushroom truffle soup, the renowned melba toast, galaouti kebabs, and yakhni pulao, fish tikka, and patthar ke kebab, along with two mocktails. I was not a fan of the patthar ke kebabs, and the fish tikka is similar to what you'd get anywhere else, but the hype for melba toast, galaouti kebabs, and yakhni pulao is real. I don't think any other places could compete for these dishes. The mushroom truffle soup was also a pleasant surprise. All in all, this is a place I wouldn't mind spending my money on, because the taste and quality, not to mention the pretty ambience, makes up for it!

I went to gallops with a lot of hope for my birthday today, while eating a huge cockroach fell on my hair. I was terrified and left after eating some.

I had an extremely disturbing experience at this restaurant. While eating my soup, I discovered what appeared to be rat droppings in the bowl. I had already consumed around 9–10 spoonfuls before noticing it. When I immediately asked the staff to call the chef to the table, instead of addressing the concern seriously, they first took the soup away. When they returned, they claimed it was “black bean,” then suggested it might be a “fly.” When I insisted they bring the soup back so we could verify it, they said they had already disposed of it. Only later did they finally admit that it was indeed rat droppings. This entire situation was deeply distressing, especially because I am currently pregnant. What made the experience even worse was the way it was handled — the attempt to dismiss and change explanations rather than take responsibility immediately. Food safety and hygiene are the most basic expectations at any restaurant. Finding rodent contamination in food is completely unacceptable, and the way this was handled showed a serious lack of accountability and concern for customer health. I hope the management takes immediate action regarding hygiene standards, pest control, and staff training so that no other customer has to go through such a horrifying experience. SICK!!!🤢

Most unhygienic place I have ever come across. The table we sat on had bugs on it. There was no salt in the starter they served us and the worst of all there was literal RAT FEACES in the soup they served to my pregnant sister. Which they blatantly lied about calling it a dead fly but later had to accept since we had proof. It's high time they work on their hygiene given the fact that there are multiple reviews having the same issues. It's just unacceptable.
