Girgaon Katta is a gem for authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. Their Misal Pav is packed with flavor, the Kothimbir Vadi is crisp and perfectly spiced, and the Puran Poli is a delightful treat. I also tried thalipeeth and bhaji plate! The ambiance is warm and homely, and the service is quick and attentive, even during peak hours. A must-visit for anyone craving traditional Maharashtrian food! Rating: 4.8/5

Girgaon Katta is located in Borivali West, right opposite Moksha Plaza Mall. It is at a 7-minute walking distance from Borivali Railway Station. I have actually visited their old branch a few years ago, so I was excited to check out this one. The place was extremely crowded when I visited in the evening, so the waiting time was around 30 minutes. But the staff is very polite, and the food was served within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered Misal Pav, Batata Vada, Kothimbir Wadi, Besan Ladoo, Piyush, and Kairi Panhe. Everything was hot and fresh. I especially liked the way the Misal was plated. It looked delicious. The Misal was made in an authentic Maharashtrian style, with sev instead of farsan. It was slightly sweet, and I personally felt the rassa could have been a bit spicier. The Batata Vada was the highlight for me. Unlike the usual batata vadas loaded with besan, this one had a soft and light outer layer and a spicy-sweet filling that felt homely and authentic. Kothimbir Wadi was also nicely made. The Besan Ladoo was delicious, and the Piyush had a creamy and smooth texture with just the right amount of cardamom. Kairi Panhe was refreshing, but I found it slightly too sugary. It maybe because I don’t usually consume a lot of sweet dishes. I also felt it could have been a little thinner in consistency. The restaurant is decorated in a very minimal way with drawings and elements that reflect the Girgaon vibe. It’s a non-AC indoor place, but the space feels warm and homely. Considering the quality and quantity, I feel the pricing is totally justified. Do make a plan to visit this place if you want to enjoy authentic Maharashtrian food. I will definitely go back and would happily repeat the Batata Vada. I recently ordered from Girgaon Katta I was quite disappointed with the service through Zomato. Unfortunately, this is the third time I’ve received the wrong food items in my order. Additionally, I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the staff members, , who started arguing instead of resolving the issue. This kind of behavior is not expected, especially when a genuine concern is raised. Good food is definitely a strong point, but repeated mistakes in order delivery along with poor customer handling can be very frustrating. I hope they improve their order accuracy and ensure better staff behavior to provide a more satisfactory overall experience.

I am extremely disappointed with the valet service provided at Girgaon Katta and with the way this issue was handled by the management. While dining at Girgaon Katta, I entrusted my vehicle to the restaurant's valet service. During the period when my vehicle was in the custody of the valet driver, Pawan, a traffic violation was committed, resulting in a challan being issued against my vehicle. After discovering the violation, I contacted the restaurant and raised the matter with the owner, Mr. Pradeep, expecting clarification and assistance in resolving the issue. Unfortunately, I did not receive the support or resolution I had hoped for and was informed that the restaurant would not take responsibility for the actions of the valet driver. As a customer, I believe that when a restaurant offers valet parking, it should ensure that its staff operate customers' vehicles responsibly and in compliance with traffic regulations. It is frustrating to be left dealing with the time, inconvenience, and expense associated with a violation that occurred while the vehicle was not in my possession. The most disappointing aspect of this experience was not just the challan itself, but the lack of accountability and customer support afterward. I hope Girgaon Katta's management reviews its valet operations and establishes a fair process for addressing customer concerns when incidents occur while vehicles are under valet control. I am sharing this experience so that other customers can make informed decisions when using the valet services.

Half the seats in the restaurant were vacant for some repair hampering the seating capacity . The UPI payment was not working owing to some network outage. we were seated within 10 mins but that was it !!! Post that no waiter bothered to pay any attention for the next 15 mins barring only folks bringing water who were quite attentive. We got tired of waiting and left without ordering ....I have been a regular customer at their other outlets but I think they have gotten too big to notice that they are in service industry and are running like a typical marathi establishment ..

Ordered from Girgaon katta....sabudana khichdi and farali misal....couldn't finish it not coz of the quantity but because of the taste. most pathetic taste ever. the misal was just peanuts served in dahi....yucks.....so many peanuts in 1 serving ...and khichdi was tasteless. .no spice at all....just sweet. yuck again ...but since I had paid a good amount I had to eat it and I dont prefer wasting food...but worst ever experience and now I m feeling so pukey. .worst restaurant ever to order farali stuff !

Most pathetic Misal pav I had in my life...much hyped, no taste, nothing. The quality of the Dahi was not good. Totally disappointed with Misal pav. Would not recommend anyone this place for authentic Maharastrian food. By naming Girgaon Katta, you cannot adapt the taste of girgaon. Pathetic is the word

They made me wait 15 mins for a table. for the next 10 mins I kept asking for a menu card people ignored me and went away. I had to take it from people sitting next to my table. I gave my order. They forgot my order and are telling me that after 30 mins. Please DO NOT GO HERE TO SIT AND DINE
