Its a Heaven for Seafood Lovers. Bombil Fry, Surmai Fry, Squid golden fry with special Sauce, Pomfret Fry, Rawas tikka. Ambience is Ok and Service is top notch. Try the Neer dosa with Prawn Gassi / Mutton Sukka (Boneless) / Surmai Gassi. Drinks are very reasonable and they have a wide variety of Mocktails. Separate Family Dining is on the Mezzanine floor. If you love Seafood dont look beyond Harish, they always serve the best and fresh seafood and lip smacking Mangalorean cuisine in Mumbai. Food: 5/5 Ambience: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Overall: 5/5

Harish was an old haunt of mine from the Ballard Estate days when I used to work there. I distinctly remember the joint as a manglorean lunch home famous for their thali cheap, tasty and quick. I was there last Monday on business which prolonged beyond 1:00 pm and had me passing Harish Family Restaurant & Bar 4 times in 9one hour. Each time I passed the joint I felt for a fishy meal and each passing I reminded myself " Must have Lunch there some time!" Finally with all matters pertaining to business at a close I marched right into the dimly lighted nostalgia. Nothing had changed except a two bit interior decor akin of the usual Shetty bars- Cheap and tacky! Pomfret fry was in my mind. So asked for a small fish if not a piece or two. The waiter delightfully took out a huge 1.5 kg pomfret. What! The whole hog? I asked for smaller fish or a piece of fry, he reluctantly denied my request. Yahi hai hamare pass! So I asked him for any other fish to which he insisted a massive fish and price. Seeing me in a dilemma and argumentative, the Owner Shetty intervened and insisted that is all they offer. Clearly not a damn for flexibility! Seeing my next table mates merrily tipsily tucking in fish fry with Beer I decided for the Rawas fry and all seven pieces as it would be presented, steamed rice and the quintessential Sole ( Soul) kari. Luckily the Rawas fry was small cubes of one inch each amounting to ten pieces. No enormity as suspected. The fish curry at gratis was tasty and yummy with steamed rice chomped with intermingle gulps of the soul Kari. After a few mouthful saw the next table guzzling beer and belching superlatives to the excellent Prawn koliwada they had ordered. Greedily I asked for a plate of the sumptuous wonder : The famous Prawn Koliwada. It appeared on my table supplimenting my meal all of a dozen medium huge sized excellent prawns in their koli marinate dress. Well, to cut the story short : I polished all and sundry with gusto. A really memorable hugely satisfying meal! Ambience : 6/10 saw a few giggling office ladies-in-waiting , however too dimly lit for a very hot Summers day. Taste: 11/10 Awesome, finger licking ! superb! Value for Money : 7/10 The waiter measures you by your appearance and decides what extravaganza in bill to offer in the menu. Price pinches. Waiters & Management : 2/10 : Typical inflexible Shetty the core reason why they are getting to be extinct in Mumbai Recommend: Not a family restaurant! But a good joint for a excellent meal.

As long as Mangalorean food, particularly sea food, goes I will give it 5*. Ambiance is simple, but who cares . Quite affordable too! Frequented by regulars.

Harish Family Restaurants & Bar is a Restroom Cum Family Non Veg Bar in Fort Area. As my office is nearby Harish I usually had my lunch here with my collegue. First of all its not easily accessible to the people who don't know about Fort Area. Usually u will find office people here. Ambience is OK. Ground floor is Non AC section. First Floor 5 ft in height is AC. Very difficult to walk so do prefer Ground Floor. Food here is OK. Nothing spl. Their Sea Food is Good. Specially Prawns Kolliwada, Prawns Butter Garlic & Bombay Duck Fry. Chicken Makhani & Chicken Biryani r decent. Masala Papad is little Salty but still crisp & fresh. Disappointed with their Chinese Section specially Triple Schzewan Fried Rice. Overall Value for money. Not expensive. Service is attentive & Fast.

Not so great ambience. Decent staff. People come here to drink, so ladies tag along a male for safety. The best fish fry I have had till date in my life. The surmai fry was extremely tasty and so was the rassa. The chicken sukka was decent too, loved the masala, was full of flavors.

Worst place to visit. We have tried Bangda, Mandeli fry, Paplet, Bombil fry.. Taste was worst. And grevy was same for all dishes. Also staff fools you while making final bill. Very congested place. No place for walking between tables.

Amazing manglorean food, Try Bombil fry. Everything is tasty and pocket friendly! It is a small place so make sure you go when its less crowded or during weekends.
