If you're someone who's looking out for a chilled glass of beer alongwith delicious, crispy sea food, search no more : Harish is the place. Introduced to me by another die-hard-seafood-fanatic {uid:30477977}, Harish is a cramped, non Ac restaurant that will not give you the comfort and ambience, but will more than make up for it with their spread. Round 1: order a chilled beer with some crispy bombay duck rava fry and prawns (ask for the small sized ones). Also, order neer dosa and they will serve it with their fish curry (unlimited, eat as much as you can). Round 2: order another chilled beer with surmai Masala fry alongwith Mackarel or Lep or Pomfret. They also have local fish which are delicious if you want to be adventurous and go for something different. Round 3: another beer (if you have the stomach for it) and you can have the kori roti, sukkha chicken or the boiled manglorean rice with chicken or fish gassi. You can repeat the rounds if you still have some space and josh ;) All 3 rounds put together will not cost you more than 2k,and you'll be content for the rest of the day, wanting to ruminate on what just went in. Harish is a second home for all coastal karnataka folks, who yearn for the local stuff with some beer of course!

This tiny but amazing joint is sure to take true Manglorean food lovers down memory lane. It certainly did for one of us bringing back memories of past delectable authentic home food Manglorean style. So at this stop we ordered their Surmai Fry, their Mutton Sukha and Kori Roti. While all three completely hit the spot, the Surmai and Mutton took the cake. Surmai was extremely fresh, well spiced and cooked perfectly. The Mutton was cooked to a 'Melt in Mouth' consistency and was prepared in a thick coconut based gravy. The Kori Roti was well presented with authentic flavors. This is the joint for true Manglorean cuisine lovers when in Fort.

Have been visiting the restaurant since years now.. have tired a lot of things here. and every thing is well cooked and tasty. This has been our go to restaurant for our family get-togethers too... They provide the upper mezzanine floor for our group of 25 to 30 pax. W

Harish Lunch Home is a pocket friendly Seafood Mangalorean Restaurant in the bylanes of Churchgate. It's a small Bar and Restaurant but their seafood is really must have. They serve the fresh catch which makes your seafood experience a satisfying one. We tried Prawns Fry, Pomfret Fry, Chapati, Chicken Masala and Prawns Biryani. Prawns Fry had small to medium sized prawns deep fried, squeezed some lemon on top of it and there you go. Prawns were fresh and juicy and for Rs.180/- it was a steal. Pomfret Fry was so fresh that one could not miss having it. Loved it. Chicken Masala was nice and aromatic. Had 6-7 pieces of chicken and went very well with Chapatis. Prawns Biryani again was a perfect order, Provided with veg raita. It was perfect balance of flavours and we enjoyed each bite of it. Overall it was a very good experience in terms of food and service. I would surely like to go there again for trying some more Mangalorean seafood delicacy.

After quite some time, I finally had the chance to revisit this spot. The place serves authentic Mangalorean cuisine, with a strong focus on seafood and meat dishes. Their Kori Rotti never fails to impress, it tastes just like the traditional version you’d find in Mangalore. This time, I went for Neer Dosa paired with Prawns Ghee Roast. The ghee roast leaned a bit spicier compared to the classic Mangalorean style, but still packed with flavor. Most guests here enjoy drinks alongside seafood, and the atmosphere carries an old-school charm. Prices are very pocket-friendly too. I’ll definitely be back whenever the craving for Kori Rotti strikes again!

I went to Harish Lunch Home with high expectations given the excellent reviews that it has, both here and on blogs of repute. However, I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered a Bombil fry along with Surmai gassi and neer dosa. The curry was overcooked and the neer dosas cold and rubbery. Shockingly, the Bombil fry was raw from the inside! The servers and management seemed indifferent and uninterested in putting out a quality meal. The place is rough around the edges in a slightly seedy way (with middle aged men drinking whisky at mid-day) and lacks the charm, or warm hospitality, of other old school hole in the wall places that seem like throwbacks to the 80s/90s. I would recommend you go to Fresh Catch or Chaitanya any day and give Harish Lunch Home a miss. Come to think of it, I would steer clear of seafood in the Fort area altogether as it doesn’t seem to match the excellent choices on offer in Mahim/Dadar.

I asked for Surmai Masala and they gave me cheap Bombay Bhangra piece and that too during the lunch time, thinking that I may not know their cheating. Bombay Bhangra is not very expensive fish but Surmai is expensive and that is why they try to make more profit. I immediately raised my concern, obviously they will not accept their mistake as I have caught them red handed, I paid the entire bill and left the food as it is. I eat fish daily and ate almost all the varieties of fish, other Resturants in the vicinity generally don’t cheat, I tried this Harish Lunch home for the first time and this happened. That is why not many drop by to this eatery. I strictly advise people be aware of this Resturant, they are not only super flop in hygiene, ridiculous in taste and also cheating you in dish what you order. Flies are all over the place, they don’t even clean the place where you sit. Waiters use dirty clothes to wipe out the dishes etc. toilets are dirtiest. It was a disgrace to he there.
