South Bombay Cafe is situated on the group floor of the Orb , Mumbai which is a food and beverages spot in the premise of jwsahar .The nearest Metro station to The Orb is Marol Naka followed by Sakinaka . The cafe primarily serves South Indian food and a few Maharashtrian dishes. The Orb Mumbai is quite close to the International airport and one will often find tourists coming over when they halt at Mumbai for their connecting flights and that makes all the sense about why a south Indian cafe is serving a few delicacies of the state they are based in. The cafe is quite spacious with an open kitchen. The ambience is quite simple yet classic and the service is very prompt. I was quite happy to enter the restaurant and see that they serve HAS juices. HAS juices are available quite easily across the country and are available to order on almost all for food delivery platforms and in a lot of food courts in Mumbai. The @southbombaycafe at @theorbmumbai Serves HAS juices and shakes and these juices and shakes definitely made for a great accompaniment to our south Indian food. 📌Here is a list of all the delicacies we tried at The South Bombay Cafe. We have arranged them as per our tastemetre - BEST ONES FIRST - 1. American Chop Suey Dosa - 219 INR (excluding taxes) : This American Chopsey that you see in the accompanying picture was like the American Chopsey Dosa one eats at most places in the city but the aroma and the flavours were bangon! Hit the right spot! Capsicum, cabbage, and steamed noodles mixed with chilly bad tomato sauces in the right proportion. Not too dry, not too runny - the stuffing was just good to go with the dosa! #thywrecommends 2. Pizza Uttappa 181 - A great Fusion dish - the uttappas were of moderate thickness and was topped with extremely finely chopped capsicum, tamatoes, onions and a lot of cheese. A few pizza herbs were sprinkled in this Desi pizza and that made for the right pizza aroma along with the perfect taste. The Uttappa base was slightly crispy and tasted like a thin crust pizza base only. Great dish. Recommend it. 3. Manchurian idlis(141 INR) : were quite impressively plated and had a killing aroma💖 . I absolutely loved savouring on these fried idlis in a super spicy manchurain gravy. The spring onion leaves and shreds of cabbage used in the gravy did add the much needed crunch to the dish. The idlis were so fresh that on digging a fork into them, they would often crumble. Melt in the mouth kinda fluffy idlis definitely hold a special place in thehungryyoungwoman 's heart. Absolutely loved this dish! 4. Avacado Milkshake (181 INR) : The Avacado Milkshake was quite impressive. We were looking for a virgin Avacado Milkshake but this one had honey and almonds added to the milk. But overall it was quite appreciation worthy. Not at all expensive for 180 bucks. #greatbuy 5. Sitaphal Milkshakeic Where : HAS (Multiple Outlets in #mumbai and the rest of #India ) TheHungryYoungWoman likes her Sitaphal Milkshake quite think and a little chunky. This one was very smooth but it was kinda tasty! The milkshake had an overpowering taste of Vanilla icecream which could have been replaced with Sitaphal icecream to avoid the clash of flavours. The friction between vanilla and Sitaphal was a little uncomforting for a Sitaphal lover like me but one sip of the milkshake and it is evident that it is made with top-notch ingredients and that's what makes it a 4/5 💖 Overall we had a quite good experience at South Bombay Cafe. 📌 Rating for the food : Straight 5/5 📌Rating for the service : 5/5 Super Quick service! We ordered 3 dishes, 2 shakes and ate at an average speed but left the place in an hour!) 📌 Rating for the ambience : 3.5/5 (Simple homely yet classic ambience with polished wodden table tops) Finally - will we revisit this place? A big yes!

Having heard a lot about this spot about their authentic dishes, on a happening Saturday I decided to visit this spot. There are many South Indian cafes, after visiting this spot one more has been added to my bucket list. The best about this spot is they serve South Indian dishes along with “HAS” Juice. Has juice is famous for fresh juice and some of the interesting combinations. “HAS SOUTH BOMBAY” is South Indian cafe serves some of the South Indian quick bites and few Maharashtrian dishes. Located at The ORB hotel, close to the International Airport. An open kitchen cafe consists of various options of quick bites and HAS juices. The Ambience is decent, spot is spacious having proper seating arrangement. Service was up to the mark as the staff took good care of us. WE TRIED THE FOLLOWING 1)PESTO DOSA - This was an interesting choice, a flavoursome dosa consists of bell pepper, lettuce and pesto sauce. A twist to your normal dosa, Italian flavour with south India authentic dosa. Cheese stuffing to perfection, tasted scrumptious. The combination was delightful to have it. Quantity was sufficient, it was well presented. If you’re looking for new dosa to try out, here’s a perfect dosa. 2)PAV BHAJI DOSA- The dosa consists of Mumbai’s signature pav bhaji combination. Stuffed to perfection, crispy taste with nice mixture of pav bhaji. Tasted on point, Sambar and coconut chutney both were on point. Coconut chutney was fresh, quantity was sufficient. 3)IDLI MANCHURIAN- Yet another classic combination to try out. Fried idli tossed in spicy sauce along with onion, garlic and cabbage. A hint of chilly, tasted on point. the pieces served with authentic Sambar. Combination went well, quantity was sufficient. 4)PIZZA UTTAPPA- A twist to your normal uttappa, this Uttappa consists of onions, tomatoes, capsicum and topped with overloaded cheese and herbs. Tasted scrumptious, cheesy Uttappa was delightful to have it. One of the best thing I’ve had in recent times. Quantity was sufficient and the presentation was on point. 5)FRUIT PUNCH- Combination of 4 flavours! pineapple, mango, litchi and strawberry. Tasted well, topped with vanilla ice cream scoop. Presentation was also on point. 6)FERREO ROCHER MILKSHAKE- And lastly has this rich ferreo rocher shake. Made to perfection, tasted on point. Paradise for chocolate lovers, topped with chocolate stick and ferreo rocher. Presentation was on point, it was the perfect way to end an happy meal On the whole, pretty good spot to visit. All the sustenances that I attempted were extremely delicious. Looking for any South Indian spot nearby International Airport, I would definitely recommend this spot. Would be back here to try out the other options. Cheers to the whole team! Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 4/5 Recommend 5/5 Value for money 5/5 Keep travelling, keep eating, keep Clicking.

I was at South Bombay cafe to try some of their authentic south indian food. It's a huge place on the lower level of Orb Mall. It's best for people working there or for people travelling and want to munch on something before transit. The place serves affordable food. They also have HAS juices included in the cafe serving fresh juices, smoothies and shakes. To start of ambience is decent. Service is decent. Food presentation is decent. We ordered for Moong Dal Masala Dosa which was very flavourful, presented like an inverted cone, it had sambhar and green coconut chutney on the side. This was the best dosa at this place. Crisp and delicious flavour of moong dal. The potato masala was also really nice. However the sambhar is not nice. It's sweet and the balance of flavour is missing. The coconut chutney was diluted and not really tasty. Rate the Dosa a 5/5 but the accompaniments should be improved to really enjoy the food. We then had Mulagapodi mini idlis. The idli was nice and tasty. However the Mulagapodi was lacking spice. It's put on top of the idlis but the taste is not punchy enough. Its more bland than the real thing. Rate it 4.5/5 We also tried Peri Peri Dosa. It had baby corn, sweetcorn and ice berg lettuce. Really flavourful dosa, which is actually used like a crepe. It's not authentic south indian. So i recommend not to serve the chutney and sambhar with it. It's already quite saucy with the peri peri and mayonnaise sauce. Rate it 4.5/5 Another one we tried was the Utappam Pizza. This was a major setback. The base of the pizza was supposed to be Utappam but it wasn't a fermented batter. It was a plain batter which was crisped up and smothered thick to have a feel of Utappam but the taste was not even close. The pizza cheese wasn't the best mozzarella. So it's like a low quality pizza experience. Rate it 1.5/5 Coming to drinks. We tried berry blast, fruit punch and Has it all. They all were nice. Some were without any added sugar. So on request we put some honey as they were too tangy with all the berries in them. The strawberry season is on so better try something to do with strawberries. On the whole i liked some dishes. But far off from saying that it's authentic south indian food. They have made fusion south indian. But then the sambhar and chutney should not be neglected. Overall rating 4.2/5 Till then Bon Appetit!!

I have been to The Orb where this place is located several times but I never tried this place. The impression was that it's a fancy south Mumbai place that will serve burgers and pastas. But today I thought let me try this and I was regretting. Regretting to the core that why didnt I visit this place in my earlier visits to the building. This is absolutely economical & amazingly tasty. Few items are to the core authentic. Its clean, hygienic, flavorful, economical. I was the second person in the restaurant but in just matter of an hour, this place has no vacant tables. I could see people walking back as this was full and buzzing. Tried 1) Mysore Masala Dosa (different & must try) - Spicy, tangy with Podi masala, cheese, good amount of veggies and filling, this is one of the best in their menu. The coconut chatni was damn yummy. The sambar was average but fresh and homely. 2) Fikter Coffee ( must try) - well I can't come back from a south Indian restaurant without having a coffee. Yes Filter Coffee. This was perfect and what I wanted. This was enough for today and to step into another meeting. But I have items from the menu already decided on menu. Toh chale South Mumbai in Suburbs ;)

This place is located in the Orb mall at ground floor. Rather take your won vehicle as coming back late night would be a task for people on the central line (bonus tip :P). Coming to the food and ambience. Ambience is like a normal restaurant but spacious, nothing fancy has comfortable seating and ample amount of light. Food: masala mini idli : this dish is something you'll be speaking for days. Highly recomended. You get 12 mini idlis topped with special malpudi masala ! what makes it even more better butter Pizza uttappa : I'm literally not a fan of uttappa and pizza so combination of both doesn't helps me either. I like it this two different taste origins separately. For people with taste buds like me, I'll go for more masala mini idli cheesy uttappa: Something to give a try Drinks : well drinks are super awesome and natural so just grab any one from menu Ferrero rocher shake sitafal smoothie..

South Bombay serves authentic south indian food at affordable prices. I have been here multiple time and have enjoyed my experience. The Orb is a terific food court with excellent brands like barcelos, Starbucks, chaayos etc. South Bombay proviides a convenient option for people. I love their pulao, the masala idli and bombay dosa. The filter cofffee is consisently average. But love the place on the whole.

A very authentic South Indian food joint at a fabulous place added for the comfort of people of Mumbai. Short and simple menu with some added twists for new taste of dosa and uttapam. Quick service by courteous staff will make you completely happy.

I think this place is a front for some illegal activity. It is not possible for a restaurant to be this bad and still not shut down. They have one chef running pillar to post to serve the food and one waiter doing the same. I waited 30 mins for a dosa when the restaurant wasn't even one quarter full. I think the owner is inhuman for operating it like this. Please shut it down so someone else can use the real estate.

The slowest service I have experienced, ever. The waiter avoids eye contact. It took them 30 minutes to make me a medu wada. Half the items on the menu are not available, including idlis
₹350 for two
