A must visit place if you are an avid foodie like me and love trying out food from over the world. Go in a group so you can order many dishes and try more. Yogesh at the restaurant is a cheerful elderly man who is more than happy to help you with your ordering. He will suggest to you the best dishes on their menu and trust me, they won't disappoint. This restaurant is an absolute no frills restaurant, no effort has been spent in ambience, cutlery or crockery, everything is served in disposable plates. They do not take reservations, so if it's crowded you must be prepared to wait. What we ordered; 1. Butter garlic squid: Absolute delicious buttery garlicky goodness (5/5) 2. Sri Lankan Chicken lollipops: These were chunky lollipops in a spicy Chinese preparation, I doubt though, it was Sri Lankan (4/5) 3. Black Mutton curry: Small portion of a mutton preparation served in an appam (3/5) 4. Green Mango chicken curry: a coconut based gravy (5/5) 5. Chicken moilee: thick red coconutty gravy. This was my favourite of all.(6/5) 6. Ceylon Paratha is flaky and too rich, so opt for it only if you're in the mood to feel greasy at the end of your meal (1/5) For dessert we had the Vellappam and the Chocolate biscuit pudding, both which were ok. (1/5) They don't serve alcohol, but some pretty unique soft drinks which are an absolute must try. All in all a great experience and I would definitely recommend them 👌

Hopped into this quiet spot for some delicious food. The portion is enough for one person and is reasonably priced. The Ceylon chicken curry stew and Ceylon parotta are an excellent combination. Also, the Colombo 9 Chicken and Traditional Hopper pair well. You could also mix and match the two combinations listed above. Had this with a Pineapple Basil cooler and ended this wholesome meal on a sweet note with two potions of Vatalappam (milk pudding). In this peaceful setting, the service moved quickly. 🥰 I will definitely be back.

Amazing food, really great flavours. Ceylon chicken and moile gravies are an absolute must try. The in-house drinks are also delicious and refreshing. End your meal on high with vatallapam; a warm cake dipped in some coconut milk🤌⭐️

You eat Sri Lankan food, the city or maybe even the country has to offer, and then you eat Hoppumm to realise you've been living under a rock. Do yourself a favour and go eat food that's just not made with love, but served with it too.

Hoppumm serves the best Sri Lankan fare in the city! From the Kottu to the traditional Hoppers and the Ceylon Curry - they are the perfect spot if you are craving some warm comforting food! We tried the Mushroom Kottu and the Crab Curry rice along with some coolers! Try this place if you are interested in trying something new!

A quaint little Sri Lankan restaurant in the lanes of Khar. We went for a simple meal of Prawn Moilee & Hoppers/Parathas, and it felt nourishing and homely. Only cutting a star for a slightly lighter portion size. Would visit again :)

Ordered chicken stew with appam. Stew was very good and the appam was crispy and fresh. Must visit if you want to try traditional Sri Lankan food . Will visit again for other dishes.

it was our first visit. The food can described as Indianised Sri Lankan food. The owner/ manager was promopt in explaining all the dishes. However, The biggest let down was the quantity of food. For 300 bucks, the quantity was jut enough for a child. I dont think it will cost the restaurant too juch to increase the potions. The crab we had was decent but too expensive (1400!) for a small restaurant with basic ambience. Another problem was the 5% service charge which is comparable to big restaurants. They also don't accept paying through zomato so no chance of any discounts.
