It was my first meal in bombay and I'm a solo traveller. I'm glad to say that my first meal here was superb. I felt the hospitality as soon as I entered the hotel. I was starving and ordered the pav bhaji (well, because I'm in MUMBAI, right?) and the host, Mr. Shekhar suggested the keema pav. It was so good! And the portion size was also perfect! Mr. Shekhar kept me company and spoke to me while I had my meal. It was very wholesome. If someone asks me where they should have food in mumbai this will definitely be one of my suggestions!

We went there especially for kheema, and we got that right in the morning. We had a regular kheema and a bheja kheema fry along with paav. The taste was amazing and we had a wonderful time chatting up with the owner, Mr Shekhar,a very good fellow who's really passionate about cooking and sharing all the amazing experiences he has had over the years. And We had a great time. I just found the pricing a bit on the higher side compared to the quantity they offered.Apart from that, everything was really good.

We had crab lollypop, jhinga masala and surmai fry today... And it was super tasty😋. Not to forget their caramel custard its a must eat dessert.. I have been there twice ... And they haven't disappointed me, Mind you I am not an easy person to please when it comes to food. On my first visit it was a Tuesday so had to eat veg misal pav and custard which was also good. The owner is also super cool. He asks customers their where abouts and takes their review about the food.. it feels very nice

The hotel serves the most tasty and delicious pav bheja fry. It is a must try dish and the host is very friendly and helpful while ordering food. For vegetarians the veg pulav is a must try. The veg pulav served by them was a perfect mixture of taste and spiciness.

This place serves amazing Sea Food, I had the Paplet thali and the fish was fresh, crisp and very tasty. Their Chicken Biryani is really good and Anda Keema Ghotala tastes good too, although here I felt the taste of egg was more than the taste of Keema, you can try their Brain Masala as well which is medium spicy which you can have with Pav. I’d specially like to talk about the Pav that they serve, they serve the old fashioned Pav which took me to a surprise look at its size. You can try their Ginger Lemon drink for a quick refreshment. Staff is friendly, helpful and gave prompt service. Ambiance can be made better and they can work on making the place look more cleaner. Price is a bit steep but worth it.

Stepped in here as it's a famous local spot, and wasn't disappointed. The place is small, old, but has a strong personality. The owner personally suggests options if you're new to the cuisine and helps you with your order. The food takes a bit, which is fair. The food itself was good, although I found the fish just a tad bit dry. Cost wise, quite affordable, and an enjoyable lunch.

I recently visited Hotel Grand House Police Canteen (a well-known restaurant in South Bombay, located beside the Hudge House), and my experience was far from satisfactory. We ordered the Surmai Thali, and it was a total disappointment. The fish was stale, completely tasteless, and lacked proper masala coating. To make matters worse, it was horribly overpriced for what was served. We also tried the Thecha Beja and Mutton Keema, but the Mutton Keema was an absolute disaster. The portion was so small, and half the bowl was just filled with sauce—it felt like a rip-off. The Surmai was saltless, and the overall quality of food was shockingly bad for a place with such a reputation. The service wasn’t any better. The staff’s attitude was unwelcoming, and the place was extremely noisy, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. On top of all that, the prices are exorbitant and unjustified for the food and experience they offer. Our bill came up to ₹1,700–₹1,800, which felt like a complete waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they drastically improve their food quality, service, and overall dining experience.

We ordered a Surmai and Bombil thali. I was shocked to see the size of the plate. In this thali u get, rotis/ bhakri, small katori of rice , a curry and fish fry and kokum curry with onions on the side. The katori for fish curry and kokum curry was just like a one year old kids katori. If you ask for chapati, u get 2 and if u ask for bhakri u get 1. The bombil was undercooked. Surmai was not fresh. Quality of rice was bad. And mind you the price is the same , between 290 - 360 , as in most of the malvani fish restaurants. First and last time here. Thanks for serving tasteless food.
