Sunny is hidden behind the layers of chembur's gullies bylanes bridger bhaji pala markets ..as if there is an attempt being made to protect the precious culture and heritage of Kerala within Mumbai.. if u r not able to find ur way blame Google maps..it's below the chembur monorail to amar mahal signal bridge..u ve to enter through a lane beaides the bridge..on ur way from chembur naka to amar mahal..after u muster up courage to take the lane left of the bridge take a left in the chheda nagar gully and u shud get it after a few shops ..now show some courage to enter and ask for the menu Order the pattawala machhii.. ask for the hot jeera drink and try it with a lil salt We tried the Surmai patta wala dish..the Surmai was a mutant dino size and look at the dissection pic..it was as white as a duck Next we tried the neer dosa malabar porota..no u ve to pronounce it that way else u ll be asked to leave please We also tried a traditional preparation and since fish was out of stock they made it with prawns and fried onions and coconut milk..it was deliciously done and so we kept licking our fingers till we finished every drop of the gravy.. Finally came a tiny portion of moong daal halwa and was masst Finally came the bill that was equally great..lookin forward to my diet results and plan to go there again ..guess will call and let them know all the fish and preparations in advance so that as soon as we reach all is ready for us 😎

This place has been on my list since way too long! Finally got the chance to have some authentic Kerala cuisine last week. Well, after trying the food here, I was definitely regretting why I waited for so long to come here cuz the food was really yum! The seafood especially was fresh and the preparation was flavourful. I actually mainly wanted o try Aviyal here but the seafood did not disappoint! The Kaju ice cream ended up being the perfect end to the yum dinner. Also extra points to our server, he suggested all the right dishes to us and was very cheerful while doing his job! (Forgot his name, but he was the only server in the family section and hailed from Tamil Nadu) Must Try: Prawn Masala Fry, Chicken Pal Curry with Appam, Kaju Ice Cream

What a lovely find ! I'm from Tamilnadu and Kerala being my neighbouring state, I do crave their food often ! But unfortunately not many places serve authentic kerala food , recently found out about Hotel Sunny, went there with my Keralite friend and oh we loved it !!! I ditched non veg and ordered the special veg thali, my friend ordered the fish thali I suppose. Veg thali was unbelievably amazing , the sambar was fab, the pineapple pachadi was crazy good, the veg kurma and veg stew, chana curry was so good, had a second serving of kerala matta rice (not in pic) . Really really enjoyed and so did the Mallu friend. I took 2 spoons gravy from his fish curry lol , it was SO GOOOD. Would definitely go back 😍😍

Sunny’s Lunch Home at Shell colony Chembur began as a small eatery in 1985 and has also and added AC section. Been frequenting this place since the late eighties when it was just a shanty. After a few years, we returned for dinner and ordered a Veg Kerala thali and Bombil fry. The thali was outstanding. We started with buttermilk—easily one of the best chaas we’ve tasted. Along with the usual green chilli, curry leaves, ginger, and salt, they add tiny “Chennai onions,” which really set it apart. The thali which was reasonably priced at Rs 300 / included: • Vegetable Kurma • Vegetable Stew • Karela Curry • Gobi Mushroom • Dal Fry • Dahi Kadhi • Black Chana Curry (Kadla Curry) • Baigan Curry • Sambar • Two pickles (one spicy tikka pickle and one sweet pickle) • Fried Kerala Papad • Plain curds (a bit bitter this time)- The only item in the thali which was off mark. For breads, you choose any two: Parotta, Idiappam, or Appam and above that they also serve white rice or Red rice as per our choice. We went with Parotta and Idiappam. Idiappam with Kadla curry was a great combo. And also Parotta with Veg stew and Kurma. Desserts were Rice Jaggery Payasam and a Fruit Custard Salad. Every dish was delicious, aside from the slightly bitter curds. We also ordered the Bombil fry, which had a completely different flavor compared to the Maharashtrian style. Their non-veg options are numerous and look tempting—definitely worth trying them all. Pure Vegetarians - if you don’t mind the presence of non veg in front of you then it’s a great veg thali to enjoy Lagao CK

I recently tried their thali..... Taste and items where pretty average plus service was particularly poor not at all worth the money....... Instead there are other resturant like mani's lunch home, jeevan etc in the same locality serving better food at reasonable price....

Ordered non-veg thali. They served just the non-veg curry and a few other breakfast curries. When enquired about the other veg curries, said they were out of stock. They should have flagged it while ordering itself. Said they were being generous by serving breakfast curries to compliment the out of stock veggies. Rude behaviour and long wait times. Average quality food. Earlier there weren’t many Kerala restaurants in Chembur, but that is not the case now. Theeram serves much better food, especially Biryanis. Maxim is also a better value for money option. Hotel Lijesh is also decent.

I found this place extremely overpriced for ordinary food. I ordered the fish thali assuming it was Rs 280, but I was charged Rs 473. They strategically avoided writing the price of the fish thali on the menu and left that space blank. Probably for my imagination. On confronting the server he sheepishly mentioned that the price for this dish is left blank Please be cautious and read the menu carefully

We ordered crispy check as a starter, it was very bad in taste. We asked for another starter but that was also not available. End up paying which I never ate.
