Discovered this gem just 5-7 minutes away from Chakala Metro – Idlay is a cozy, cute little spot that instantly gives homely vibes. Tried the Ghee Roast Dosa, Thatte Idli, Filter Coffee, and Pineapple Sheera – and every bite (and sip) was a delight! The dosas were perfectly crisp, just how I like them. The filter coffee and sheera? Easily a 10/10. If you're in the area and craving South Indian comfort food, Idlay is a must-visit!

Visited Idlay Cafe for a quick evening snack. Tried the Mangalore Buns, Thatte Idli, Idli Vada, Filter Cofee and Chaas. Everything was Freshly prepared in a clean organised kitchen, Budget Friendly, Service could be a bit quick though!!. Location - Right under the Metro station hence would definitely recommend this place for a quick on the go snacking or meals.

Stumbled upon this spot right below the Western Express Highway Metro Station, and it turned out to be such a comforting find! The food here gives you that warm, homely South Indian feel — from perfectly crisp dosas to soft idlis and a hearty thali that leaves you full and happy. But the real winner for us was the Mangalore Buns paired with their filter and cold filter coffee. Easily one of the best combos we've had in a while! Service was quick, the place is clean, and the pricing is just right for the quality you get. Whether you’re hopping off the metro or just in the mood for some no-fuss, flavour-packed food — Idlay Cafe is definitely worth a visit.

I was never really fond of dosa, but this place completely changed my mind. The dosas here are absolutely delicious and truly got me hooked. However, I noticed they’ve recently started serving them on thermocol plates, which doesn’t quite match the aesthetics or vibe of the place. Hopefully, they bring back serving on traditional leaves.

The food is great. Easily one of the best South Indian snack outlets I’ve been to in Mumbai. Tried the open benne dose, ghee pudi thatte idli and vada. Service is prompt and quick. Benne dose was an absolute banger. Vada can be improved - taste and freshness wise. However, the staff should keep a check on the freshness of chutneys. Also, there’s a huge number of flies for a place that’s closed and Air Conditioned. The restaurant management must look into that.

The food is good but not great! An authentic South India breakfast should have freshness and should be served hot, which was missing. I believe the lack of ownership was missing, which can really make a name for itself, otherwise restaurants open & close everyday

I ordered idli and dosa from this place. They were too sour like the batter had over fermented. Got food poisoning from the food
