If you're a die-hard South Indian food lover like me, then you absolutely MUST visit Idlyguru! This place is a hidden gem that serves the most authentic and delectable South Indian cuisine you can find in the area. What truly sets Idlyguru apart is their dedication to authenticity. They offer a delightful array of 8 types of pickle rice, each representing a unique flavor from various parts of South India. The flavors were so rich and genuine, it was like a culinary tour of the South in every bite. The Bisibelebath, originating from Karnataka, was a revelation. It was a perfect balance of spices and flavors, and it transported me straight to the heart of Karnataka with each spoonful. But that's not all; they offer more than just rice dishes. We tried their Bengaluru Masala Dosa, which was crispy and filled with the most flavorful masala, and the Sabudana Button Idli, a delightful twist on the traditional idli, which we had never experienced in Mumbai. The ambiance is comfortable, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. For South Indian food enthusiasts, Idlyguru is a culinary haven that promises authenticity and an unforgettable gastronomic journey.

A 4.5 rating experience. Idly Guru is located in Versova and it is on the main road hence easy to find. This brand is Bangalore based and they have 50+outlet in Bangalore and they have achieved this success in 2 years only. This outlet is their 1st outlet in Mumbai and they are planning to expand fast. The outlet is decent in size with live kitch view and you can see the steam of the idlis plus making of everything right in front of you. All ingredients sourced from Bangalore and everything is made fresh daily. The menu is amazing with a lot of varieties to chose from. Prices are not too high as the quantity served is great. What We Had - Thatte Idly + Chutney. Thatte Idly + Chutney + Ghee. The size of the idli is something that I have not seen in Mumbai. Generous in size l, super soft and tasty. It was topped with red and green coconut chutney which tasted outstanding. The ghee version again tasted great as the ghee adds amazing touch to the idli. Thatte Idly + Curry Leaf Pudi + Ghee. Thatte Idly + Groundnut Punch + Ghee. These versions should not be missed here specially the curry lead pudi on the top. Both the toppings tasted brilliant and and it doesn't feels over done. Button Idly + Tomato Fry - Mini idlis tossed in groundnut, onion, tomato chutney tasted good. Again something unique yet tasty. Sabudana Idly + Ghee - This was the bomb. Sabudana idly very soft and tasty with green chillies in it. Loved the ghee again and loved eating every but of it. Filter Coffee - A perfect end as the coffee tasted really good. Strong and not too bitter. So my experience at Idly Guru was unique and a memorable one as they have brought the authenticity to Mumbai and I want to try their Dose soon. Hence I highly recommend this place.

Tried the place a few times. We were disappointed each time. First time we had to wait for a long time - they were not able to manage orders, those coming later were served first! Thatte Idli was undercooked. Second time we visited when it wasn’t crowded and still didn’t enjoy the food. Dosa tasted like the batter had gone sour and instead of crisp dosa, the dosa was partially burnt.

I visited this place only after coming across a promotional video on Instagram. i was tempted to try this being a die hard South Indian food fan . i came from Parle to versova to try this next time even if I am around this area I will avoid this place. i just left disappointed and immediately opened Zomato to write this review to save others from the same 1) Asked for idly they had no idlys available at all! not even a simple steam idly on a freaking Sunday!! 2) Did not have any rice varieties saying they don't keep it on Sundays which is really surprising considering Sunday would be the busiest day for any restaurant. 3) The last straw why I walked out - i had placed order after finishing the first order and the lady at the reception even repeated my order to me to confirm and after waiting for a long time 15 mins i noticed no cook looked like they were making anything. i asked where is my dosa ? he was like what order did u place?? we were not informed!! this really made me furious . no cleanliness too . had to ask that man to come twice to clean . Terrible experience. Terribly under-staffed and clearly very very bad service.

only if you are a reel maker or arrive in your Mercedes, would you get an unburnt or quick service food. common people like me , please stay away. the restaurant people don't find you important. they can serve burnt or not serve you , even if you see the order coming through for the elitist people . Am a VC. I keep checking out new businesses . this one is prepared for failure. one suggestion - learn to treat everyone with equal respect.
