Great place, disappointing first impression. The venue itself has a good atmosphere, but our experience at the front desk last night was uncomfortable. Before we could enter, the hostess asked whether we had a reservation, even though we explained that we only wanted to stand at the bar. When we questioned the requirement, she replied that this was “how it works here.” We also found her tone dismissive and condescending during the exchange, particularly in the way she addressed the women in our group. This was not our first uncomfortable interaction with her; we had previously raised a concern about a similar experience with the manager. Guests should be made to feel welcome when they arrive. Clear information about reservations is reasonable, but it can be communicated courteously. We hope the management reviews how these interactions are handled, because the front-desk experience left a negative impression before we had even entered the venue.
