I've been a Modern Lunch Home loyalist since my college days. From eating a thali post college to adjusting my schedule to drop a visit there to eat sometimes, one thing that hasn't changed is the food & price. Having tried seafood in a lot of restos in Mumbai, including high end, I love the freshness and taste of the fish here. It's super tasty and reasonable. I love their Pomfret Fry and their Pomfret Curry is our family favourite. You can buy extra gravy for a nominal charge which is so generous! The bombil, crab masala, prawns fry, komdi vade, neer dosa... Everything is fresh and tasty. Wish it had more outlets! While it might not have a great top class ambience, the food & service makes up for it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy a good seafood meal at reasonable price.

Very fast nd good service nd sea food are Awsome specially surmai masala with dosa guys u should try this.. And aj tak itni fast service kahi nhi mila

The food will make you skip home cooked food and the staff is very lovely and will always take your order very nicely

It is no doubt a great fish food joint but the experience of eating there in the summer is very uncomfortable. I found the food cold and then they later did heat it up

It's a bitter sweet feeling as i write this review. Had taken mum & cooks for a lunch today and didn't realise Highway Gomantak is closed on Thu, we googled and found Modern. The goods. Fish curry (Pomfret) is nice. With rice that's a combo. Chicken sukkha was nice too. Sol kadhi was superb. Surmai fry was nice and hot. Chapati was ok. Prawns so so... The bads. Bhakri was cold. All of ours 😂.. reply given fan was fast so... In 2 seconds how? Anyways... Veg thali veg dishes were missable. Bombil was not good. Tired bombil or made before and reheated. They need to learn this dish from Gajalee or even Gomantak.. Service was polite and owner manager paid attention but once incident happened which tuned us out a bit... Esp Shetty management is v careful of this. Before food came one boy was serving water. Since I was sitting on left he kept serving above my phone and i was in the middle of a big imp text send 😌.. so the third glass he took between my eyes and my phone i req him to serve from other side. He got a bit offended but didn't say nothing. I forgot abt it... Later just as food came i got up to arrange table and saw him glaring at me. I joked abt pls don't be angry man, he continued - later had to req manager to req him to not stand literally on table. Manager thankfully did the needful else we were feeling odd eating like that 😂😂.. If ur at Sion only and u really need to eat good fish curry rice, this is the place. But don't travel from Versova or such for it. The eyes and the bhakri & the bombil, very missable😂😂

My experience at Modern Lunch Home was pleasant, but not extraordinary. While the food was delicious, particularly the Pomfret Thali and the Prawn Thali, the portion size was quite small, and the thali itself was minimal in comparison to other restaurants. We also ordered the Prawn Ghee, which was too greasy and rich for our taste, and the Squid Chilly was absolutely scrumptious. The service was quite slow, and the ambiance was nothing to shout home about. In all, Modern Lunch Home was an OK experience.

Food is good, but the quantity of the food has decreased like anything. Ordered one prawns chilli today for 350+ rs and what I got is not even half of the small container & the call attended says thats how we give. I would recommend not to buy anything in parcel as they cheat with the quantity and will not even have the courtesy to accept the fact that they are looting people. Have visited this alot of times but lately such behaviour just makes me hate this place

Incorrect order was sent deliberately today instead of.sending chicken sukka ... chicken gravy was sent and when complained the person mentioned to adjust for the food which was prepared.

You charge a premium for the chicken ghee roast, but the quantity is ridiculously low. An absolute disgrace. Never ordering from Modern ever again.
